I just realized how you mentioned in the CUBE Inc. 1 thread that this map will be released in early 2012. This map is really valve-time.
Well, if I took the early-2012 version of the story and the map itself, and compared it to now.... they are two totally different maps. The amount of redoing that has taken place has been immense, and that is why this is taking so long. Like I have said, we want this to be the best it can be. If it takes redoing entire chapters then so be it.
Eh, not really. I can't really say what we are working on without spoiling tons of the story. In all honesty, the only stuff I've really revealed via screenshots (with a few exceptions) have all been from Arc 1 of the story because posting any other screenshots would spoil the story. I wouldn't call that an "update", but I guess it is a nice little fact I thought I would throw out there. Enjoy.
I would love nothing more than to put this up for download, but school work is just.. insane at the moment. I'm either too busy, or I am doing school work. Incetents is definitely getting more done than I've been able to, but it definitely doesn't work out too well as a one-man project.
I'm not going to say any estimated release date yet. As we know, that hasn't really turned out too well over the past year and a half.
I really liked the first map even though it dosnt work after 1.2.5. I really want to play the map and would test what you have done now. Also, could you like make a pre-realese so we can see what you have so far?

Okay, Let me tell you something.
1. He has told me no, he has enough.
2. a Pre-release would ruin it.
I don't think so, Incents or whatever his name is is probably working on it, but like he said, A. Bioshock. B. School. C.Cant really say anything without spoiling it, D. Even an Elephant sometimes forgets.
The issue isn't really because I don't have time (Well, maybe if you look at it in a certain way). I'll be honest, I started making maps when I really didn't have much else to do with my life. My friends couldn't have been more annoying at the time, so I just found something else to pass the time. Then I started CUBE Inc. 2 almost instantly after. Now, this is where the problem starts to split into two completely different reasons.
I'll go with the less interesting reason first. I got a new batch of friends over the last two years. Life has gotten better, and I would like to spend as much time as I can away from the computer to just enjoy my life. I mean, why not? I don't have any desire to completely waste my life staring at some screen for hours on end. So, yeah, it isn't that I am busier now... It is just that I do anything I can to stay busy, and away from the computer.
Second reason. I enjoy the story that I have created for this map. In fact, I enjoy it so much that it has become bothersome how restricted I am when it comes to playing this thing out over Minecraft. I have always had the characters personalities and more really well thought out, but that is an issue trying to convey my ideas onto tons of signs and mysterious voices that you are forced to distinguish from one-another. Then there is the way a lot of the story actually plays out. Every other chapter has some sort of deus ex machina to keep the story "original". Well, without a proper way of telling the story it gets old really fast. I used to write a lot as a kid, and I realized that I could obviously get back into it. That is exactly what I have been doing. I can finally tell this story without making it take place in a world made of blocks.
I don't see this story as taking place in some empty world made of blocks. Heck, the companies name isn't even CUBE Inc. anymore. Look, I'm not trying to make it look like I hate making this map, but it has become really difficult to do what I want with Minecraft, and I want to tell the story how it needs to be told now. No more test chambers, blocks, or a million voices on signs. I'm finally going to tell this without worrying about "TOTAL PORTAL RIPOFF MAN" comments. It just gets tiring to do something I don't really want to do, and now its too late to fix a lot of mistakes I've made.
We are still going to release CUBE Inc. 2. Not sure when. But we will. You have my word. I want to finish this map for you guys. I want to tell this version of the story at least. I am doing this for all of you that have been waiting for this because I know you all still want it. Oh wow, I just rambled for way too long. This whole post is probably pretty incoherent, so my apologies. Anyway, I'm sorry you guys had to learn this way, but this is better then not telling you guys at all. When I get time I'll make an edit on the OP and explain this in a less confusing way. Thanks, again. You guys are the reason I haven't stopped making this yet. Who knows, I may actually get re-interested in making the next map. We'll see.
Quite an interesting ride... went from uninterested to semi-optimistic. Cool.

Maybe I can try.
CW needed something to pass the time, so he started making maps, but now he has more friends to hang out with, and he doesn't want to spend his life in a chair clicking on a mouse. So he does stuff other than, well, this.
He also has ran into some trouble, the story.
The story isn't supposed to take place in Minecraft, but since it is being portrayed that way, it is hard to get it to work. Because, CUBE Inc. or whatever it's called now, is supposed to be a whole new game. And he's doing his best to get the story to work, but it just isn't happening the right way. He has the story, but portraying it in MC is a whole new ball game.
It might not be a whole lot less confusing, but it sure is shorter. And CW, you need to know, that, well, look at all these guys! There here for you, we're here for you. When you're stuck(mentally, not like your in a hole with your laptop), and are felling down, we always be here for you, but not there cause that be weird.
