so i thought i wanted to join but i don't think i have time... I'm already working on a mini map for my beta testers that i disappointed in the release of catastrophic caverns and I'm working on a new catastrophic caverns... so i don't think i will participate this time around.
My First work on the Strawberry Jam is in, below is the so far development of "Nova Labs".
Nova Labs is a research facility on Gratta-4. At least it was until it was destroyed by its own creations, namely bio-toxins. Just waking up from experimental cryogenics, its a race against time as the planet is quickly infecting you. Just five days can kill! Better finish before then! (<thats the timed aspect)
I still have to make "The Red Jungle", "LAB #2", and the Launch Platform (<Wool Monument/escape).
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

First progress report doesn't have much to show off just yet, but decided to go ahead and post it. Mostly complete spawn area, will touch up the edges so it's not quite so 'clean' looking later. More work to be done tonight, not sure if I'll continue streaming or not.
Album, 4 screenshots. Some explanations are given on the images as to what's going on.

Finally have a couple pictures. This is the first area, and the goal is to light a few fires at various points to bring life back to the Forge of the Hidden Flame before the fire goes out - forever. When the forge is lit, the player is teleported to an alternate version of the area, where they have to fight their way back before they overheat. So, there are two versions: The unlit forge, which has lain dormant for years, and the lit forge, which is full of lava and fire.

The time is here for a new Jam, and a new perspective on life. What is "countdown"? I don't know, read a dictionary maybe. The theme of countdown is most certainly unrelated to any events that happen in early January, so I ponder - why do we have to use "countdown" as a theme? I believe that "Vechs maps" or "Super Hostile #13" are better themes than this dribble, but I digress...
When I made my last and most adventurous map "Anus", it got rave reviews and was considered "The Best Map of Jam #4". But what went through the mind of the maker when he made this map? Find out now in this tell all interview.
Interviewer: How drunk were you when you made that god-awful map?
Answer: Great question. I think the real core of that question was you asking "how drunk were you" and I like it when people take initiative to ask such amazing questions to me. Keep it up sport, you're doing well in the world.
Interviewer: That's not an answer.
Answer: That's not a question.
Interviewer: How did you make the anal cavity so lifelike and pleasing to the eye?
Answer: It all started in 2012 when I saw a map called "Septum Immoriel", which had a first area that was strikingly similar to the form of a colon. However, this area lacked block variation and was made of only bedrock, and honestly looked Vechs-tier bad. I took inspiration from this area to make a map that was beautiful with the same concept of this area in "Septum Immoriel". I persisted through 45 minutes of training and mastery of block variation to create what was seen before you in "Anus".
Interviewer: Do you plan to make a sequel to this map?
Answer: Great question. I think the real core of that question was you asking "do you plan" and I like it when people take initiative to ask such amazing questions to me. Keep it up sport, you're doing well in the world.
...
...but what defines a sequel? I believe sequels are only made by the cash-cow patriarchy of gaming, run by Ubisoft, only to increase company profits. No, I do not plan to make a sequel, but a re-imagining.
And, as a world first view, I present to you all...
Anus: A New Beginning
Yes, I know this comes as a shock to all of those not in the Skype chat. But I've created something that exceeds boundaries, that makes people weep in bliss at the beauty of top-level mapmaking. This map will change your life and bring ultimate harmony to your mind. This is ANUS: A NEW BEGINNING.
Copyright Valve 2015. Do not use as an accurate representation of the human anus - I only looked into isaac_bardin's one and I'm pretty sure he's not a human. Do not enjoy around other people. Do not enjoy sexually. Do not enjoy.

I'm fairly sure this is what everyone was waiting for. I assume the countdown theme applies because we've been counting down the days until this release?
So I'm about done (aesthetically) with my second area, "The Armory of the Gods"... It's a linear path, and you have to reach the end before time runs out. Basically, you have a certain amount of time before one of the members of the Pantheon shows up and uses the superweapon hidden within to destroy the world. You have to reach the superweapon first, and there are things you can do to slow down the Pantheon (optional objectives that give you more time). Then, when you reach it, you must destroy it.
I present to you...
Worldrender.
A weapon forged from nothing by the Patriarch, the creator of the universe. The weapon he would use when dissatisfied with a world he had created. Stowed deep underground, the weapon was never supposed to be used again... but now, one of the divine beings that make up the Pantheon has found its location, and intends to unleash its full power.
Once you complete the objective, you have a limited amount of time to escape before the caves collapse... woo, logical time constraints!

What I mean is that I made spawn and spent an hour and a half tinkering with command blocks and crying when they wouldn't work!

Probably tomorrow when I wake up, about to head to bed for the night.
Back to work now, still tired but I must continue if I'm to finish on time.
Awesome! Love the way it looks, and I like the concept. I look forward to playing it.
