So finally here's my map:
Journey to the Light
Difficulty:easy
Theme: Monster Hunter
In this map you can choose your pace and grindiness. You can blitz through it, or take your time and grind. It has certain basic survival features while not forcing extreme grinding on the player. For those of you downloading it currently, it has cheats and creative mode enabled so that if you want to do a fly-through you easily can. Also you can trade with villagers certain mob drops to get better gear, and there's only undead mobs. Here are a few screenshots:
I think I may have failed slightly with this map. It is shorter than I expected it to be, and personally I wasn't very engaged while playing it. This could just be me looking at my own work, but I'm not so certain with this map. Anyway, here's the download (also please tell me in a PM how the map is and what I should change if/when you play it): http://www.fileswap.com/dl/ww4FMxLqDh/Journey_to_the_Light.rar.html
Although I'd rather work on it longer so I could polish ther map a little more, I leave on vacation tonight. I'm still pretty happy with the end resut:
Into the Depths
Into the Depths is a 3 wool CTM map. The difficulty is medium-hard, although that's just in my playtest of it.
Sceenshots:
Sorry if some of the screenshots are a little dark.
Well guys, 2/3 of the way done with my third wool area!
EDIT: And here it is!
Cavern of the Lost
Its only finished aesthetically right now, i still need to make a custom mob for it and add a bit of loot, then i can move on to Ascent of the Worthy, my fourth wool/monument area
Hello, everyone! I am the official "Fly Around In Creative" guy of the jam, so I'll be checking these out like dat. I'll be going through all of the maps next week, after they're all finished.
Here's what I'll be looking for, for people making their maps:
I'll rate them on an out of 100 basis.
Relation to Theme: The map must properly represent the theme, if I feel it doesn't represent the theme well, I'll be taking points off.
Aesthetics: Depending on how good their aesthetics are, it will affect my opinion on the map overall.
Gameplay: This will count for a very small portion of the rating, seeing as I'm simply flying around the map in Creative. I'll be using my best assumption skills by balancing items and mobs.
Creativity: Normally I'd be simply looking for how creative the map is, but I'll also be gauging the creativity with the limitations of the theme. Just make something relatively interesting.
And that's my criteria!
You forgot "abiding by the time restriction".
Yeah, I'm 90% sure we're going to DQ on time, over here. My partner couldn't help build yesterday at all and I just spent a very frustrating three hours trying to get worldedit to work on a Bukkit server. Unless my luck changes dramatically a Sunday release is implausible.
Well, guess what, I'm late to the party, as always. Looks like everyone is showing their progress, so I might as well join.
Right now, I'm mostly done with two wool areas out of three and the passages between them (sort of "small" areas that provide a smooth transition from one main area to another). I might do some more small tweaking today, but the last area will be made tomorrow.
Also, Sandstorm is the name of the map.
Oh I already know how painful it will be to trim all these vines T-T
My map's finished! Here's the fancy looking post. It's not perfect, but I think this makes up for any issue you may have.
Something Completely Different I: A.C.I.D This is a CTM map thingy. It has one pseudo-intersection, so you decide what to call it. There are three wool blocks. Works on 1.7.2+
thank you for asking, you should play it because there are:
-fany mobs
-battle sticks
-I think there's pretty fun gameplay
-watermelons4dayz
-Boots of Quake_Pro(tection), which are pretty much the best thing ever
WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE THAT THE NAME DOESN'T SOUND LATIN ENOUGH?
you can call it D.A.C.I.U. P.T.R.I.U. instead.
WHAT IS THIS THING ABOUT?
You are a member of the Arial Coverage of Insectoid Developments, specifically the Team for Reconissance of Insectual Properties. You get to go inside a beetle. There are melons. You get shrunk. It's pretty freakin' awesome.
WHY ARE YOU HIDING THE PICTURES FROM ME?
Wow, you're quite the skeptic. Fine.
and download it for this nice fellow. If you played my map, I'm sure you'll love him

Lost a few hours due to visiting family, but I'm aesthetically done with wool area 3/4.
This one is dedicated to the regulars on my own map thread:
The area consists of three small caverns, a very large cavern, and a semi-large cavern with a tower. That's the first small cavern, so it's just a fraction of the area.
@Xhen: For whatever reason in that screenshot it's not the towers that appeal to me most, it's the paths connecting them. They just look really cool. Sadly, though, I've reached my limit of reputation points for the day...

Here is a new download that has fixed a balance issue with spawners in the first wool:

I really enjoyed taking a part in the jam, and all the other maps and screenshots of maps I've seen so far look great!

My mini-CTM map! It's a fun map, so play it!
That is amazing! ;3;
------
Also, little note, my monument area is now done! I just need to finish the fourth wool dungeon and my map will be ready for testing
What's this? Red and greens? Oh, and a run through Wither spawners?
I love the monument.
ok now i just need to test it and hope its not horrendously unbalanced ;-;
edit: oh and i need to write the story! dangit i just remembered that...
Well , that's the exact same name as I had planned. Well, time to come up with a new name.
Special thanks to Axl Rosie for the sig.
however there not latin...
Everyone knows semi-dead languages are the best. My next map should be Welsh!
I am so happy ;3;
I'm gonna playtest sometime soon, and the map should be released either late tonight or early tomorrow.
