Looks like a cool rage map, loving overcast, and Infamy it looks good but it's way too cluttered and the obsidian looks like darkness and not a solid wall although of course it may just be my screen brightness.
Pretty sure that's just your screen, I can see the obsidian fine.
I think it looks great! People will probably point out similarities to the first area of Pantheon, but I think it looks good just like it is. The interspersed ledges of fire really make it look nice.

Yea That's what I was thinking. It doesnt really matter since its looks FREAKING awesome.
Been out of the mood in map making recently, so I am now taking area ideas and suggestions. I may tweak them to my own liking a bit, but I'll dedicate the area to the you
Please elaborate on collecting all the wool. Collecting all the wool does not compute with my brains ability to understand what others are saying or something like that.
This means that in the chest, you must make it back to the monument with every individual piece of wool to complete it.
I personally like the new texture of the lapis block. The old one felt too "different" for my tastes; the new one gives it a nice artificial shine that matches the other mineral blocks. But that's just my opinion.
Also, was it necessary to call Mojang "stupid" over a simple texture change?
A lot of Mojang's "simple changes" **** me off. You remember the skeleton "simple change" or the redstone update "simple change" or the anvil (map file) update "simple change". That stuff made all my old wip maps completely unbalanced and broken. I have so many old projects that I had to bed abandoned because of "simple changes". I like lapis blocks because they actually have a good aesthetic. Now they look like **** and I'm never using them again in fact I'm taking them out of all my wip project right now.
Just putting 1 wool in the chest makes that idea a lot easier.
You missed out on my idea I made on page 340. Check it out to see what I mean. I had a hopper system where it requires you to collect all of the wool to send out a redstone signal.
Thanks a lot Infamy! Just what I needed, more lava!
On a side note, I believe I have figured out a way to make my monument idea actually work. I could stack up just enough wool for it and place it in it's own respectable slot. Confusing? Here is a pic to help understand what I actually mean:

1. The skeleton "simple change" was brought up by Vechs in light of the skeletons degrading in strength since beta 1.7. The skeletons may get very obnoxious, but now they're a bigger threat to look out for - just like in beta 1.7.3.
2. The Redstone Update was no "simple change"; it introduced a lot of the items that we use at this moment. Hoppers, comparators, quartz and a whole bunch of redstone bug fixes are all welcome changes. Even if they do break certain builds...
3. The anvil "simple change" could've been done better, I'll admit. It's full of holes and bugs in this system. But, the anvil changes are quite useful in some way too. It is in no way a "simple change". Here's a list of the things that we take for granted with this update:
Maximum build height has been increased to 256 (was 128).
Empty sections of the world are not loaded into memory or saved to disk.
The maximum Block ID has been increased to 4096 (was 256) by adding a 4 bit data layer (similar to how meta data is stored). The rest of Minecraft's code is not currently prepared to take advantage of this, however.
Block ordering has been changed from XZY to YZX in order to improve compression.
Packets for sending chunks have been optimized (a chunk without air is smaller than in the same chunk in the old format, and a chunk with lots of air is even smaller).
Biomes are saved per X,Z column, which means they can be altered by tools; this is very useful for map makers.
Are all those "simple changes"? No.
Which brings me to my final point: don't you feel like you're acting like a bit of a whine? No offense, but you really need to just....deal with it. We've survived through Mojang's changes in the past; you can now.
Also, please don't take this the wrong way - I'm not a Mojang "fanboy" in any way. I'm just stating my opinion on this manner.
And how exactly would that be different from just collecting one piece of wool?
I could make a intersection unlock system using the wools so whenever you have completed the first, a door will open to the second intersection. (sheesh you're kinda being a downer...)
I don't know what that has to do with collecting all pieces of wool. If you would force a player to collect all 3/27 pieces of wool in order to advance, you might aswell just put one piece in the chest. You could, however, use it as a bonus objective, where maybe new areas would be unlocked when the player collects all pieces.
The system uses hoppers and comparators to detect wool. When one piece of wool is there (along with 4 miscellaneous items) the signal is only strong enough for one block. You must gather at least 18 more wool to increase the signal by one block. In order to unlock an area, All 18 pieces of wool must be present, otherwise the signal just won't be strong enough to trigger the doors. The 4 misc. items keep other items/blocks from entering and hacking the signal. There are also other hoppers connected where when it won't go into the hopper below, it gets transferred to other hoppers, telling the player the item you placed in wasn't wool and is "garbage". It is a bit complicated, but basically you can't progress until all 18 blocks of wool are in its seperate bins. This is what I mean by you collecting all of the wool. One piece of wool won't trigger the system, but all 18 wools will. This is different due to the fact that you can't just randomly place an item inside and it still work. You LITERALLY MUST collect all wool to proceed. Get it now? Please tell me you do because this took FOREVER to type (and it's my birthday. I don't have much time for sitting and typing...)

I do that for all the resource blocks, I only use default when I'm making stuff for maps.

Thanks for being the first person to note it was my birthday, instead of shooting down my idea xD

I like it! But maybe some ambient lighting? Good for LP'ers
