Hey, I see lots of you are sharing your pics from oncomimg maps. So I do to. In my next map, there will be just one intersection leading to 4 huge areas with 4 connected subareas.
This is intersection with monument (I'm going to remove monument and make it larger.)
This is jungle-temple subarea.
Waterfall and river in a ravine:
Dam on the top of the waterfall and caves:
I have more stuff that doesn't look nice, yet.
The last thing. I found in September how to summon custom minecraft spawner as an item. If it's usefull for somebody, write me. I will show a few pics how to do it.
Say your opinion, please!
Hi there friend, your pictures look very nice One suggestion that I have for you is to use more color and depth in your buildings- as they are, they don't really feel like the focal point of the area a lot of times. Try using more blocks other than just stone and stone bricks, like the new granite and diorite. Other than that, I don't really have much to say. These are some fairly impressive pictures, especially from someone I've never seen post here before Best of luck to you in your mapmaking endeavors!
Man it has been forever since I have checked this place, was surprised to see it still active. How has it been everyone? Also, have there been any good CTM maps since Ragecraft 2?

A new one is coming out soon! Community project, which I think makes it amazing just because of the talent of so many mappers being condensed int o a single compilation of different build and playstyles. I know it's just like pantheon, but it's just better. Smaller, but better.

But seriously, the Community Project is going well, and is looking great!
I applied via google doc to be apart of the community project. Where do I go to get further contact from there?
You, uh... connect to the IP on the google doc and hope that an op is online? But really, a lot of the work on this map is done, and all of the areas are at least partially complete. As long as you don't mind helping out other people instead of going off your own inspiration, jump right in! Otherwise, as soon as we finish this map (which hopefully won't take too long) we'll probably start a new one, which would be an ideal time for new people to join.

Nice! Try to add more contrast between the cavern walls and the structures inside to make them "stick out" more.
I've been making some ultra slow progress for my mini map. In my work-flow i've decided to work on mobs, loot and block variation (plus other MCEdit stuff) later in the development and concentrate more on the areas' design and aesthetics
Here's the hub and the first cave:
It's going to be a short two-wool map, but for each wool you'll have to find its dye so I'm planning to build at least four areas/dungeons.
I like the 2nd to last and the first, but I think you can roll off a new look with the second to last one easier because its more colorful, yet still grayish like a cavern should be.
Hey there Jasper, that's a really nice castle you've built! I've got a couple of suggestions, though:
1) The walls look really bland, and I can make out quite a few brushstrokes in them. Try adding glowstone and/or vines to give them a little bit more texture.
2) Your trees are very bland. They all look to be the exact same size. I'd suggest adding a couple big trees. To give the ground a bit more life, you can grow some grass and flowers, and I suggest you change the biome to Jungle- it makes grass, leaves, etc. a very pleasing color. (Also I've noticed there are two birch trees inside the walls, but all of the rest of the trees in the area are oak- what's that about?)
3) I think you can add a lot more "pop" to your buildings by adding some lighting around the area- redstone torches are good for this. Just remember that the player is often drawn to light as the focal point, so maybe you can put some in that big keep.
That's about all I've got- it looks really nice, I couldn't build a castle that good xD Good luck with your map
Here's my share in the avalanche of screenshots. This is the spaceship hosting my white wool, 480 blocks long of badassitude. Mr Torgue like. Explosives not included though... until later in the map with some crazy cmd-blocks sorcery
It's was in my testworld at the time, but the Home/Nexus will be very close to the ship
And to top it all off, they have pictures of their upcoming map:
Whoaaaaaaa. Been a long time since I saw you. Hey, remember that area you made for that collaborative CTM map nearly 2 years ago? Y'know, the "sequel to another collaborative CTM" map? Yeah, Titan's Revolt still hasn't been released. But that doesn't mean you should take back your area and use it in your own map, please don't do that like *cough cough* certain other people did.
Oh and that picture is broken. Plz fix, I want to see what it looks like

My desire to test The Painter still hasn't come back in all this time, but I'm finally starting to get a bit more free time, and I figured that one way I could try and regain my inspiration is to make a minimap, entitled Terminal Assault. It'll be six areas, four objectives, and since this is the first minimap I've created that hasn't been for a Jam, I'm going to try and put a ton of effort into it! This is the spawn area, entitled Valley of Champions.

That looks so amazing.
Since when?
Since when do old ctm vets that haven't touched the community for years come back with a new map in progress, with inspiration coming from nowhere?
wot? why?
And they even bother to update their map for 1.8, the update that all the mapmakers are complaining about for balancing? (link in sig)(edit: sig broken by forum changes appurently. Link here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/maps/1514883-ctm-cubic-horrors)

Special thanks to Axl Rosie for the sig.
it's broken? works fine for me. Does this work?

Hehe, looks like fun, can't wait. How far along are you thus far?
Special thanks to Axl Rosie for the sig.
I'm in intersection 3 out of 5 and a half total intersections.
