Vechs now is only Chipmunk and Mindcrack, When will we have another map, i would pay to have another, I'm tired of playing inferno mine v3.1, already done it many times, all other maps are bad, only the maps vechs is good.
This guy.
Guys, I will not have internet acess for the next week or two, so can I have a list of CTM maps I should play while gone. Give me the best maps out there. I have already played the vinyl fantasies all vechs maps, moon II and UT1 and UT2 along with many others but I still need maps, Links to maps would be very helpful but not necessary, thanks, bye.
Those of you that have played Aima Caves might remember Spiral Tower, it was the first experience I had with MCEdit and at the time I thought it looked great, but after looking at it a few days ago I decided I could do better than a stone roll of toilet paper.
It might not look as great as some of the screenshots I've seen around, but it looks a lot better than before, and personally I think the gameplay is great.
Before:
After:
Note: Area is still WIP.
This was one of the areas that I thought looked aesthetically displeasing and it looks so much better now, great work.
I've been working on my 3rd CTM, 'Starwind' for a few hours today and I've done up to the Yellow wool
Here's the lore for the Yellow Wool area, called 'Disturbed Slumber'-
When time was young, a band of adventurers discovered a cavern, deep beneath the surface. Every wall, every floor and behind every corner, gold gleamed as it reflected the light of their torches. They journeyed deeper still.
They began to hear rustles and scampers of clinking claws. Wet breaths and wheezing laughter... The adventurers returned to the surface as quickly as they could and none ever spoke a word of their discoveries...
Years later, a young prospector came upon the cavern and was overcome by wonder and greed. He spread word of the gold as far as he could. Staring at the gold, he had not noticed the creeping shadows and echoing whispers around him...
From around the land, gold miners came to the cavern and every day they dug deeper. After years of mining, a gigantic blue crystal was uncovered! It sparkled, but its admirers failed to notice the shadows lurking beneath its many facets..
A talented thief known as Dandie Lion learned of the gem and snuck into the cavern in the undead of night. As he struck the gem with his pick, it cracked. Then it split in two! Darkness lunged out and consumed the thief. And there he remains...
Rustles, scampers. Clinking claws. Wet breaths and wheezing laughter... And the rattle of bones...
I hope it's better than those monstrosities you made >:C
Nah, just kidding, I'm excited for your new map!
Also
I gave your maps another try, I guess I was hypnotized earlier or something cus, it somehow looks better than before

Every bloody CTM map series boasts that it's bigger, longer, and harder than other CTM series. It's almost as if it's a **** measuring contest. (bigger, longer, harder...)
@drago I really like that area. It may get a bit frustrating if ghasts blow up those glowstone blocks though (and is there anything to prevent me from tunneling up that pillar?)
Now that you've said that, I'm going to turn all the stone in that pillar to feesh blocks. >:3 I was already planning on having a bunch of ghast spawners to discourage tunneling, but feesh is exactly what it needs. Thank you!
while using block 36 to block pearling is alright. it is still kinda cheap when you pearl into the wall and just fall to your deaths. Either warn the player that you use them in the map so they stay on guard for them or make it so when they hit them they don't just die.
Yeah as long as it does warn them it is fine. But there has got to be a reason for the player not to just go oh look I can just pearl. Something to make them think "hummm there might be some block 36 there... So I should not pearl" I know Amlup put multiple layers of it in the black wool of UT2 in a fashion so you would see the first one and be warned that they were more.
In response to all of this, I am planning on letting the player know that block 36 will be used in multiple areas to discourage pearling. There are at least two areas before this one where it will be used, and both provide a safe environment for the concept to be demonstrated. Past that, it's entirely the player's fault if they decide to pearl and get bit for it.
I disagree about there having to be a visual indicator about block 36 being used. Light glitches almost never look good, so they aren't convenient ways for people to find out about blockages. I think just having an obvious Fun-path is enough of a discouragement to pearling.
Again, if issues come up in beta testing with people thinking they can pearl to the middle pillar and then being frustrated when they die for it, I'll address it.
ok i feel bad actually having to post this here, but i gave a small update about Speluncaphobia on my thread if you guys wanna check it out. Right over myah!
Mine is probably Rugged Horizons, just because it is one of the few i've beaten and i am on my 3rd playthrough of it!
I'll give my top 3 because why not. (Edit: And I'll elaborate on them.)
1. The Sunken Muds by colorfusion
I honestly don't remember a ton about this map (since I played it quite a while ago), but I do know that I loved it. Nice, diverse areas, a lot of side areas and dungeons to explore, neat aesthetics, great gameplay, lots of usage of new mechanics (for its time)... The list goes on. Not to mention it's an open-world cave map, which is a rarity in the CTM division of mapmaking.
2. Safe Haven by Domara
This map, despite its size (42 monument blocks + 30 bonus objectives), was actually only the third CTM I legitimately completed (to put that in perspective, now I've completed 14). And it blew my mind. The continent was big enough that it required a lot of exploration, but small enough that I could easily navigate the place by the time I was done. Despite the sheer amount of monument blocks there were, every dungeon was fun and unique.
3. To Greener Pastures by Karrott
This one was also a lot of fun. That boat ride in the starting area was beautiful and instantly made me look forward to the rest of the map, and it definitely didn't let me down. Having the monument in the first intersection made travel times short, so I was able to jump right into the action and have fun. The aesthetics were great, and the gameplay varied greatly from area to area.
Tough choice, but it's mostly between UT3 and LoDII. UT3 utilizes new features in a brilliant and original way, while LoDII is just freaking beautiful and played very well in the version it was created for (haven't tried it since.)
RH deserves an honorable mention because of how early I played it (I was the first beta tester to finish it), and how many times I've played/finished it via speedrunning.
For the run&gunner in me: Uncharted Territory 3. I blew threw that map, loving every minute of it. Looking to play it again soon.
For the hardcore CTM tryhard in me: Vinyl Fantasy 1 & 2. Both maps offer a challenging yet rewarding experience, with amazing visuals and insane ambiance.
Also, a lot of people are naming LoDII as their favorite. I agree it's very well made, but I've got one main problem with the map. Draco's leveled area system allows you to go from the first area to the diamonds without too much difficulty, and then blitz through the map in prot 1 diamond gear.

There ain't much left of the world these days. The gods have forsaken us, there's no denying that. But still you press on. For what? A chance to sift through the ashes one last time? The hope to one day be called a hero? Whatever your reason, you've got a lot of work to do. The corruption won't leave without a fight, so you better get started.

To be honest, I personally don't mind if people do this. With v1.1 however, I made it harder to obtain diamonds with the introduction of the resource gathering area, but it's still definitely possible to get them.

I've played a few of them. So far From Ashes is my favorite right now. There's a lot of challenges and the map has a lot of dungeons and variety to boot. It actually does feel like an island.

Kaizo Caverns. It was the first map i completed, and I loved the fact that it was so focusing on the survival aspect. There wasn't too much loot so farming had to be done. I setted up at the monument, and made a giant tree farm in the first cavern (with help of tons of tnt). I had like 16 grinders in the map, and even decided to make a grinder in the castle area for the fun of it.
With that the map was very well balanced, and the final areas felt like "final". A giant castle, a big diamond cave and then some ghasts above void.
Aesthetics weren't too good, but at that time i thought they were amazing.

Moon II by Kerblah because it was just awesome
Pantheon because I am proud I beat it
Vinyl fantasy II cause 3_2
Legendary because it was the first map I ever beat without using peaceful and it was the third map I ever played (i went through canopy carnage and black desert 1 in peaceful for the first few wools and the last wools
Inkstar because it wasn't really a challenge it was a tour of a freaking amazing world

Haha, yeah, that picture you posted a while back was very much an inspiration for it.

Hey! I like, run this... or something:
Land Of Desire 2. By XL_Legendary, or Draco_Rogue.
I know this is sad, but I don't have a completed CTM. Frowny face.
In case you don't know, that was the first forum name I had before I changed it to Draco_Rogue. But please, don't call me with XL_Legendary.
And yaaay people like my map.
