Whenever I try converting the world and spawning in skyblock, I always spawn on the mainland. Any ideas?

My hunch is that you didn't put the map file in the correct directory or you didn't extract the map files to the correct location. You should always remember to extract the map files to the saves folder within the .minecraft directory

I did just that, it's so weird.
