I like how Draco invited you all to play Project Ares right after we were on the same server together for a couple hours.
On-topic: I've been playing through v.1.2 of my map, and I'm pleased to say that I think it's nearly ready for the final release. I'm really hoping a few people will jump on it and do an LP. Apollo has already told me he would be making a series of it, but he's kinda sketchy with how he uploads videos. :/
Also Torien, I'm kidding, not that sensitive :/ And I just like bugging Draco because he's been in a bad mood with every PM he's sent me recently. Just provoking a response

Ooh. I figured I might as well wait until the full release is out to play it, so I'm glad that it's nearly ready!

Yeah, I agree. Looking back I think he took on way too much. And I feel guilty because I had so much faith that he'd be able to do it all himself... Sounded like such a good idea at the time....
Okay then, wanna be an admin? If so that's 2 people. Anyone else?
Me! Sounds fun, and it'd also give me more motivation to get better at CTM maps.

I'm up for participating on an admin account. I think we should combine Red's OP and Isaac's OP, though, because they both have good elements to them. Red's got the organizational thing down, and Isaac had a nice rating system going. Combining them gives us the best of both worlds.
I actually found this thread because of that suggestion
I'm not sure about the rest of it, but when it comes to schematics if anyone wants anything really complicated with redstone or NBT edit I really like helping out. If anyone had any requests I would be more than happy to schematic them up! I'm good at building as well, but it takes a while.

Cakes can always be trusted. *Nodnod* If you're gullible...- Said HunterEris
Please only+ me if I post something funny or informative.
If you guys do make me an admin, I CALL PINK! So suck it, Dylan. Pink's better.
On another note that's still related to the review thingy, 1) What would it be called? and 2) Would you use reviews from the old review thingies? and 3) Would you review each map individually, or all of the together if they're in a series?
Reviewing would be a very long process, but I'd be willing to do it...
And for series... I don't know, that's a tough one! And I have no idea what it'd be called either...
Gee, both of us have put a lot of thought into this. Hmm... how about "CTM Review Collection"? That's awfully bland, but hopefully it's a decent start.
Okay, so me, Dylan, Infamy? Is there anyone else I've missed?
Here's what I say it should be. Purely a list of maps and reviews, nothing else *yet* (although if one person in the admin group wishes to take up something extra, like hosting schematics for example, then they can be in charge of that, but I'd rather we not make it so that anything other than the maps become central to it). Listed like Red's, maybe not as long/complicated and listing ONLY the active/up to date maps (so nothing from 3 years ago, which would just clog up the list). Maybe there'd be a "blast from the past" section that one person can manage which will list all of the maps from yesterday, which have inactive authors or haven't been updated for a while. But, again, for the central idea, I feel like we should only list active maps. What does everyone think of that?
I think we'd either categorise the maps by author or by the individual maps themselves. I didn't like the way Isaac's thread did the series but not the individual maps. I like the way Red has done it a little better, but all the same, my Tales of the First Explorer series probably wasn't going to be listed as a separate thing, and instead "Skeeto's Corner" would be in place of a series name for me. If someone has more than one series then I feel they should be listed separately.
Reviews we'd gather from all over the place, I think, not just from the admins or thread regulars. I'm actually envisaging us going round the threads of various CTM maps and asking for people to submit reviews for them. That would benefit the mapmaker due to them having a variety of reviews on their maps, not just a few bias ones from the people who created the thread. We may have to say 10 reviews maximum for people like Vechs and Amlup, and if there are more than 10 submitted then I'll either get my critical hat out and choose the best or we'd put it to a vote to see which are the best and most informative reviews submitted.
As for Infamy's questions: 1) No idea, any ideas? 2) Probably not, this would be a new thread with new ideas, and some reviews may be outdated by now. We'd probably start from scratch. 3) Each map will get a mention, but obviously we cannot possibly fit reviews for every single map in one OP. Perhaps we could link to posts as opposed to putting the review in the OP, and have each of the links to each map's reviews under another spoiler tag, or something.
So, for example,
Author: Vechs
Series Name: Super Hostile
Maps
Sea of Flame II
Infernal Sky II
Link to John's Review on page 56 of thread
Kaizo Caverns
.....
Not sure if colours for reviewers would work, but colours for admins would actually help a lot seeing as there won't be many of us I'll quote the post again later so that people in other time zones can get a say before my post is hidden underneath 3 pages of feedback.
Edit: okay, Orange Again, I'll post later with all the finalised details for the thread, and if you all still want to be admins and there isn't anyone else desperate to join then we'll go ahead.
I believe that Drago wanted to do it, as well. Also, I really like all of your ideas for it so far.
EDIT:So I'm closing MCEdit so I can put a couple of maps into my saves folder, just for some CTM practice, and it stops responding XD
Okay, I've just read through my post again and realised I kinda contradicted myself in places x_X
1) 10 reviews max for each map
2) reviews would be linked to rather than kept on the OP just to save space; maybe the top-voted reviews would get a place on the OP, or if any maps have less than 3 reviews then they'll just go straight on the OP.
3) list of current/active/up to date maps, perhaps with a "blast from the past" section dedicated to out of date or inactive author maps.
4) each admin would have a separate colour, maybe we'd reserve posts dedicated to each admin after the OP (similarly to what Red did here) which would be formatted to match the OP but there for only that admin to edit. Otherwise all admins would have access to the joint account and would be able to edit the OP.
Anything else?
Okay, Drago as well then - makes 5 of us
Can I be head admin though kk
Don't think you've missed anything, sounds good! Also, OF COURSE you get to be head admin. You came up with the whole idea!
It would make a lot of sense to reserve a bunch of posts on the first page so you get extra room as well.
Yeah, that would make sense. Also, how would we sort the maps? Alphabetically, by date reviewed, by date the map was posted...? Oh, and we'd also have to note what version the map was last updated for (snapshots, Anvil format, still in Beta format, etc.), and what version of the map it was (beta 1.2, 3.1, etc.)
Umm... In addition to my previous questions that you might have missed- I didn't want to waste space on the page, so I edited- I was wondering precisely how we would classify a map as "CTM". I mean, a lot of maps are just kind of survival-islandy but still require you to get X amount of Y block. Would we include those, or no (personally, I'm against it. I never really thought those were "true" CTMs, even if they did have it as a tag)?
I think I'll say only 5 people can be admins right now, Karrott, and we seem to have hit that with Dylan, Drago, Orange, Infamy and me, but we'll see
@Dylan yeah, that sounds better. Maybe the most recent one to be added could be in the OP, or the top-rated one. Others can be listed in the thread, and maybe rep points can be the voting system?
@Infamy Only maps that include a Monument (no matter the design) will be classed as a CTM map. Cuz the Monument is supposed to be the central purpose of the map, is it not?
Glad that you've decided. Despite my opinion, I've always kind of been ehh... about those maps.
EDIT: Also, whoever reviews Domara's maps, I feel your pain. That would take WEEKS.

Id be happy to handle schemtics if you were looking for a sixth
Id be happy to handle schemtics if you were looking for a sixth
I think that'd be a good idea, but we'll have to wait for Skeeto's opinion. That would also let us manage schematics, which would be much more convenient than having schematics somewhere else in a different thread
Is that the one with like, 72 objectives?
If so, I've been wanting to play that for a while
And I think we should have like, an admin skype chat, just so we can let the others know when we're updating...
I don't think two people editing the OP at the same time would be a good idea.
Yeah. I can't actually talk on Skype, but that'd be a good idea. And feel free to take that map off of the rest of our hands, I'm sure everyone will be grateful.
EDIT: Now it's time for me to get to work... I went through the first several pages of the map forums, and got most of the CTM maps (not all of them-yet). Now, I just have to sift through and see what looks fun.
Whoever takes over the schematics, I'd suggest you start by porting over my old thread.
Yeah, that'd probably be a good idea. The review... people? "Team" may take that over, as Karrotts offered to manage that. We just have to wait for Skeeto's go-ahead.
I was informed of a schematic shop being a possibility and the discussions taking place on this thread? If so I would love to contribute and/or help out in any way

This guy is pretty cool: Hey! I like, run this... or something:
Guys, please, don't do anything yet. I'm waiting on Red's reply and don't want anyone doing anything. If I'm going to be head admin then I want things to be done once I'm ready to begin them. Once Red has replied we'll start discussing things properly. If he doesn't reply by [insert day here] then I'll go ahead. But please.
Also, can we not worry about schematics, other content etc yet, please - for one, the guys on the Vechs thread wanted to start their own schematics shop up, so we need to give them time to do that before we contribute. But also, I want us to have done the actual content focus of the thread (listing maps) first before we bring in that stuff. But, again, WE ARE WAITING ON RED'S REPLY. I am not going ahead with this until he gives his consent (providing that doesn't take 3 weeks).
Oh. Whoops. I just downloaded... a lot of CTM maps.

With me always at school, and missing out on all the fun stuff, I feel so left out.
Of course, I would love to do something like this, but this is the first time I've even seen this, which is annoying. Honestly, the system of just saying, "Oh, I was here first, so I should be included." is a little unfair. Just because I read this late shouldn't mean I can't participate because other people could read it earlier. If I'm really making a hassle and no one agrees with me, then I'll back off, but I've been left out of a lot of fun things because of time differences and not having the ability to respond first, and it's really beginning to irk me. You guys have fun making your thread (if it happens) while I just sit in the corner...alone...

Hey! I like, run this... or something:
Drago cleared it up for me Whether there's going to be a section as part of a larger shop thread or its own thread doesn't really matter.
Edit: Just saw your post on the other thread. Again it doesn't really matter, a schematic shop would be pretty cool all on its own
