This is a burning map I made for Pat and Jen! The structures are made of a few of Jen's favorite things (see the screenshots for pictures of them). It is a standard burning map, with kits to choose and colorful structures to burn to the ground! I made it in 1.12.2, so I recommend playing it in that version as well. It is Multiplayer friendly and all signs are in English. I hope you have fun playing my map! Good luck and have fun!
I really liked this map but I feel you could have used command blocks to make it more user-friendly.
You can use a redstone loop to infinitely activate command blocks that grant Saturation and Night Vision. Basically, when you make a Minecraft map the less the user has to do of redundant things (eating, trying to see in the dark or drinking potions) that are not meant to add to the difficulty or hinder them the more enjoyable it is. You can also make it so that a set of series command blocks (command blocks that activate once the one pointing at them activates) sets off a fill command that fills in lava above the structure to burn it instead of having the players press a button for it. Although it's a little tricky, you should also look into using commands to automatically clear the items in someone's inventory and equipping them with a kit.
What I really liked about the map was that there were no solid blocks below the structure. I'm sick of seeing burning maps where you can escape the structure. Even though they say exiting the structure is against the rules, they never specify what penalty there is or what counts as exiting the structure. I also like how you didn't have unburnable blocks in the structure.
I do think some of the kits are unbalanced, like the one with Fire Resistance. 45 seconds is actually a really long time and it was on a lingering potion, meaning it could last up to a minute. You have to remember that burning map rounds only last about 5-6 minutes so having about a minute of Fire Resistance is very overpowered. You also didn't mention what you need to do after you fall out of the world (since it doesn't count). Do you TP as fast as you can? Do you hit the button?
Thank you for the feedback, both of you! Floofzy_Kitten, I do understand what you are saying. I am not very good at redstone/command blocks yet, as I am just beginning to learn these things, even though I've been playing since the early Minecraft days. I will work on improving my skills. However, the video that Pat and Jen did showed me on what I could do better and what I did well. Thanks again for your input!
