Ooh! This looks really cool. I haven't much played around with the new snapshots (seeing as I mostly just redstone, and you want to be on a stable platform for that most of the time). I'll probably put this in my "vanilla" survival along with Celestial Vanilla, Dynamo IP, and The Tempest Box.
The pack has been updated for 1.12 pre2, adding the new vanilla advancements that were introduced in the two pre-release versions, as well as some more new advancements of our own.
The pack has been updated for 1.12 pre4, essentially updating the syntax of some advancements (as that got changed) and adding what we've done so far of the new "Building" tab.
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

This is awesome, although for some reason the classic minecraft tabs are still there along with the custom ones, so there's twice as many tabs as there should be, and that's kinda sad. I was wondering what I did wrong

In the download you have to copy both the "blazeandcave" folder and the "minecraft" folder into your world's advancements folder. The blazeandcave advancements folder creates all our new advancements and also the vanilla ones are in there too, but modified slightly. The minecraft folder replaces all the vanilla advancements and vanilla tabs so that they are impossible to obtain, meaning through normal gameplay you will only obtain the advancements from the blazeandcave folder and not the minecraft folder.
However if you use a command like /advancements grant @s everything to give yourself all the advancements so you can check them out then yes, it will still make you get the "impossible" advancements, resulting in twice as many tabs as there should be. But through normal survival gameplay, provided you copy both folders properly, it should only show our custom tabs.
The pack has received a large update now that 1.12 is released, adding many more advancements across all the tabs, but the main new feature are the rewards. Installed by putting a set of functions into your world's functions folder, item rewards are given by completing some advancements.
The pack has received another update, possibly the largest one so far, adding about 90 new advancements to the pack and also three new tabs - Combat, Redstone and Enchanting.
And, another update! This update does not add any new advancements, but it does add full language translation support for all the advancements using the BACAP Language Pack. Currently Pirate Speak and Lolcat languages are supported (created by yours truly ), but if you want to help us translate the advancements pack into more languages, more details on how to do that are on the Planet Minecraft page.
Plus some bug fixes, including fixing "The Lie" triggering when you get any item, and the lapis lazuli advancement triggering when you get coal.

Oh that's why, I used the /advancement command...
Sorry!
Great work tho, I love what you did, I'll be sure to use that for my survival maps!
Did you make the advancements with a program/generator or by hand?
PS: You should post that on the minecraft reddit
By hand.

To remove vanilla advancements, try using something like this for all root files:
With that, the game will not be able to read them and will not be given to the player even if you use /advancement.

Ooh, I didn't think of doing that. Thanks for the info!
The pack has received another update, possibly the largest one so far, adding about 90 new advancements to the pack and also three new tabs - Combat, Redstone and Enchanting.
Remember extra tabs only show up once you unlock them in your world. Try placing any block on the ground - this should unlock the building tab.
Pretty nice pack! I love it)
Glad to hear!
The advancements pack has just hit 1000 downloads!
Another update to the pack is here! About 75 new advancements are added in this update, including a new "Potions" tab.
