What happens when your entire species leaves, and you're left behind? Hidden away and forgotten within the Haven Network, the sleepers were left behind when humanity fled the dying world of Tenebris. Now they awaken to a world plagued in darkness and monsters. Surrounded with the ruins of civilization, they begin to rebuild and reclaim: a quest in which they are very, very alone.
Vulcara, the land of fire and ice. The first installment of The Forgotten series, Vulcara is meant to be an introduction to the world of Tenebris. The frozen wasteland on the surface means that the majority of the map takes place underground, amid the lava that fills much of Vulcara. More pictures:

General Map Information These maps were originally generated with a program known as WorldPainter. This means that they are not at all like generic Minecraft maps: essentially there are no natural caves, ores, resources and so forth. The main material in every map is sandstone. Other resources are collected from quarries (stone, sand, gravel), mines (ores), or farms (trees, animals, food). This means that it is kind of pointless to dig around in the sandstone, because you won't find anything useful.
Maps in this series are all open world. However, there are roads and rail tracks linking every location. This style of map is meant to encourage exploration without causing one to get lost. Everything on the map can be seen from a road (although it is not necessarily all on a road). You may have noticed that my maps have far fewer wool to find than most CTM maps. This is partly because the maps are simply smaller than most CTM maps. Mostly, I didn't want to add areas to the map just to try to fit more wool in. In addition, wool location doesn't follow that of conventional maps. Wool is generally located in the throne room of castles, the ends of dungeons, or the top of buildings (no fleecy boxes), and the color of the wool depends on it's surroundings, not the order your expected to find it (white wool won't be the first wool).
Standard Rules and Instructions:
Find and fill the Trophy Room.
Find wool in chests, do not use dyes.
Use at least Easy, never Peaceful.
Do not leave the map boundaries.
Do not create Nether Portals.
Survive in any way you can think of (including breaking blocks, placing blocks, etc).

So I know I said I was going to do a let's play, but I tried playing it and the map is just too hard at the beginning. I couldn't get out of the first area and when I finally did, there was no reprieve from the monsters. The hardest part was just the excessive number of spawners in the first area. If you provided a pick to break them or something like that, it would have been more do-able. However, I just can't continue playing this, it is too much of a challenge and wasn't very fun for me.
Thanks! I uploaded an updated version of the map now. The starting area should be more realistic to conquer.
I added pickaxes to every starting location. I also added more food and torches because I didn't want to put limits on any exploration/fighting. I also expanded the tips, I included the relative difficulty of each starting location. It should have been there in the first place to be honest.
I recently played this map; and I have to say, it is one of the most fun adventure maps I have played. The lore is great, the area's are very well designed, and the objective is easy to understand. I do agree with Bush about the difficulty, though. It took me a while to get past the first area, but after that, it was all smooth sailing! I'm looking forward to completing this map and I do recommend this map to any ambitious players looking for a good adventure!

This isnt an Adventure map It is a differant genre called CTM.
I just started playing this yesterday.
So far this has been a fun experience! I like all the custom loot, and the areas I've seen so far. I also liked how hard it was to try to traverse the mountain after the first area.
I have yet to find the Trophy Room, but I'll be able to give a better review once I find that and get a base set up. Great job so far!

Thanks for that video, it was great and I really enjoyed watching it! I might just recommend having some sort of conclusion instead of just ending it, but overall it was fun to watch. I'm glad you liked the map so far.

The first three episodes won't have one because I was rushed to do the editing, but the later ones will! Thanks for the pointer!
