I would like to take the time to apologize for my absence from this forum. Unfortunately school has been a huge priority! Recently I was accepted to Queen's University for Chemical Engineering, only 6 more days of school then summer! I haven't had much progress on the next map, I tend to swing between more than one idea, to which I put into a possible 3rd map. Honestly once I find free time I will start to make the next world! As for that skeleton spawner, I don't remember having any custom spawners :S I might have used a schematic from someone or something! Vechs has a spawning exe from someone I think
My lady and I are looking forward to starting this map together (Well, at least one of us is ;), but I wanted to know a few things:
Is there any known or strongly expected problem with running this map in the 1.6 snapshots, other than the expected changes in mob behavior--Will anything higher than 1.4.7 break the map?
I'm never sure if the mod rule applies to Rei's minimap or not. Is it okay to use? I can turn off the actual minimap if that is a problem; I tend to use waypoints to reproduce an actual sense of direction.

Do you have to bring all the lost villagers, including mortifer, back to the pirate ship? I cower at the idea of herding a long train of minecart-riding villagers all the way to the ship.
Amazing map by the way. I got tired of Super Hostile, and went looking for something refreshing. This is really great. Thanks
I'm afraid my adventures in the land of Safe Haven have been cut short. I've made it to the underground cavern with lots of pathways and ghast spawners where I assume the pink wool is. I haven't gotten the monochromatic monument yet, so I may have done a little bit of sequence breaking...No matter, the chunk loading lag is still too much for my old, mediocre laptop to handle. I may have no choice but to wait until a computer upgrade to continue. I dread trying to go onto those thin, skeleton filled platforms above lava with 9 fps.
I'm back! After almost half a year, I'm responding, so sorry guys... I've decided that the underground mines will be moved to the 3rd map of the series, where my interest lies more in the sky world sequel of Safe Haven! I'll keep you updated soon, I've been SUPER busy with all of this university preparation, and once I'm settled in I'll get back to work and keep you posted on my progress more loyally than I have in the past. I'm assuming 1.4.7, but playing it in 1.5 is...a challenge. Damn skeletons. Bit of feedback:
Blazing cavern: No. Not so near the start of the map.
Burning Furnace hint: WTF?
Enchanted Jungle top is pretty pointless, the loot is mediocre and there's not even an objective.
Library: It'd be nice if there was a 1*2 hole in the surrounding bedrock so we don't have to go through the whole room every time.

The point was to make an ender chest and find it in there, but since the player.dat file is individually affecting ender chests now, only I can access it... It used to be universal
I just defeated the Ender Dragon, but I only got enough experience to go from Level 38 (my starting point) to Level 75. (?) Does anyone know why the Ender Dragon isn't giving me enough experience? I searched the entire area and there's no more experience orbs.
Also, in the Nether, (as well as in the clouds area) there are places with empty chests, or places that seem like they should have chests. Just an FYI in case you were going to update the map at some point later.
UPDATE: Quick question on the Rail System in the Nether ...
I went into the Cathedral of Shadows and I went down the moving lava with my fire resistance potion. The block in that monument room was a nether brick slab, but there's no place for me to put that on the monument ... (?) Just to confirm, you all did get a nether brick slab in the Cathedral of Shadows?
I actually realised this slightly after I posted the map... I McEdited some of the chests and later noticed nothing was added into them... As for the nether brick, I think the IDs have moved since their intended release date... There is definitely a lot of editing to do
I've actually completed this map a while ago, but I have a question about the custom skeleton spawners, the one where they were fast melee fighters? How did you create it? I've seen it in a few other maps, and I want to use it in mine.
I know I could just re-download the map and copy the spawner, but I'm curious how you made it. Also, it's kind of rude

There should be eggs for taking them back! The eggs are basically a place holder for each of the lost souls

Really sorry to hear about that... I don't know why that's happening though, I've never experienced any problems with fps
Interesting timing for me so I want to make certain of a few things: My lady and I were actually supposed to start recording tonight, but she had to reschedule.
I've downloaded the map and MCEdited out the ladders. I really only have two questions:
Is the furnace goal broken in this version?
Should we wait for an update to the map or should we (can we?) update the map when a new version comes out if we go ahead and start now?
I have an idea that fits the hint. Assuming you don't use then End for any areas (or you could do something creative, I don't know), make the End Portal block (not frame) a monument block, and place the furnace in the End, so one would have to use the portal block to access the Ed to find it. I haven't reached that bit of the map yet, and I am thinking of a restart because I haven't played it for like 7 months now but yeah.
Glad to hear work is still continuing on a sequel to this map. Take as much time as you need to get it finished, because if it is anything like "Safe Haven", then it will be well worth the wait.

Thanks man, I'm having a blast! I have gotten so many new ideas it's not even funny, feel free to read the little "edit" at the top of my forum post!
I have an idea that fits the hint. Assuming you don't use then End for any areas (or you could do something creative, I don't know), make the End Portal block (not frame) a monument block, and place the furnace in the End, so one would have to use the portal block to access the Ed to find it. That could work, I have the end preset now to a certain kind of level design (where the dragon blows through certain materials while you fight him in a spherical area... I have a lot of testing to do with that before I even start designing the way stuff will work there

Yes it's permanently broken, and possibly will just be removed entirely. And I'm not really planning on updating the old map for a while, I want to focus on new level design So go ahead and start now! Most of the map is fine, the only update I would apply is scaling of loot and the effects of new updates
I'm starting safe haven today, I hope to beat this map!
