That never happened to me...... the problem is the random teleport bug which fixed... that bug tps you 3 blocks bck from were you are and Sometimes it causes me to die (falling, tp into lava etc....) And that's the only thing i want to fix
The quick fix is to put a fence with a gate at the end of each hallway. Thats what I've done and it works well!
Quick question. I started the game from the original ant farm having wanted to start this whole thing fresh from the start. I cannot seem to find the end portal to get to the Extreme Ant Farm. I found the little bedrock circle under the bed but that's all it is. Any particular I'm supposed to do?
I gave up pretty quickly because there were NO SUPPLIES ANYWHERE. Let's follow my steps from entering to
ragequitting.
"okay, starting extreme survival. I have...a wooden sword with knockback 1. yay. >.<
Let's enter "mushroom", I'm starving already, and mushrooms sound nice. no food, wooden sword, this can only end well.
Can't...actually find any mushrooms in this place, giant or otherwise. I'll head downward, maybe there's supply chests around. at least I have this gravel...
Is there anything in he-SPIIIIIIDERS! AHHHHHHHHHH! *dead*
Well that was odd, let me just head back quickly and torch the area since I have no other supplies- WHY ARE THE CAVE SPIDER SPAWNERS COVERED IN OBSIDIAN?! WHYYY??? *dead again, creeper destroys everything*
I cheat and use peaceful mode and spawn in items until that dungeon is over with. I guess there's nothing left to do but press on to that one ahead of me. that supply chest must contain something good.
CREEPERS! SKELETONS! PAIN! OH GOD WHY IS THE CHEST COVERED IN OBSIDIAN? THAT ISN'T NICE!!! *dead again*"
There's only so much of that which can be chalked up to my incompetence. Did I do these dungeons in the wrong order? I didn't see a progressing difficulty order anywhere, I just headed for food.
I might give it another go after I watch a let's play of someone who actually succeeds at this map.
After watching antvenom get started I learned a crucial thing: how to completely cheat the dungeons so you barely have to deal with the spawners coated in bedrock/obsidian by tunneling! Felt cheap, but I've been doing so much better this time. Plus his render distance/brightness must've been higher than mine, he saw a lot of things (like the giant mushrooms) I couldn't.
I've only found about half the dungeons, but I did finally get the enderdragon egg and get access to the last area:
Okay, have to die to get in, that's fine. But there seems to be no way to get back once you die there, you respawn as normal in the center of the End. and you WILL die there. caught between blazes, diamond armored zombies, and no food. I feel like you taunted me with a satisfying conclusion and a final area and then murdered me right out of it.
Oh and random numbers apparently hate me, I've gotten every animal to spawn except cows. No cows = no leather = no book for my enchanting table. Is there one in one of the dungeons, or am I just screwed?

If it feels like cheating but it's not actually cheating, you're doing it right. Don't forget you're playing against the map, not with it.
I never said it would be a satisfying conclusion. That's the whole point of the forbidden ant farm actually; give you surreal circumstances and expect you to survive it

Starting off in the Ant Farm can be extremely difficult, the most important tool at your disposal starting off is the ender chest in the main area. For the first couple of hours that chest will be your friend, go adventure till you find something useful then stow it in the chest and kill yourself if your starving. Rinse, and repeat. It took me a solid 4 or 5 episodes to get to the point where I wasn't constantly starving. The other thing about obsidian on top of the chest, thats a recent change because formally it was too easy to mine around the back of dungeons and grab the chest without facing any of the mobs, my advice is to stay away from the dungeons until you are a little bit more established or until you have lots of torches to light them up and stop the mob spawns. This is a pretty difficult map that rewards you for persistence so keep at it and don't get bummed out because your starving all the time.
EDIT: sounds like you've figured it out a bit more, like MG excellently put it "Your playing against the map, not with it".
the 'are you stuck? click here' one, in the empty space where in previuos version you would fall into they void if you moved too much
If i'm still correct, when you get stuck, your standing on top of a 3x3 obsidian platform. My fix for the problem when the map was still in beta was to quickly shift into creative and break the center block of obsidian, then fall through and trigger the pressure plate. Breaking that one block fixed the problem for me permanently, but my map was in Beta and the button your referring to was put there after Beta, so there may be a completely different problem occurring that i'm not even aware of.
After carefully prodding the redstone (far as I'm concerned, I got the egg there already, this isn't cheating) I managed to figure out how to re-trigger the transport to the forbidden ant farm. My strategy for surviving it this far I'll put in spoilers, I'd rather others figure it out for themselves:
with the supplies in the forbidden farm, I managed to craft an ender chest (diamonds, obsidian in one of the testificate rooms, blazes spawners and enderman spawners) and now can siphon things past the dimensions! I'd assume this was the intended strategy, considering one of the vendors expects me to have smuggled rubies in here. In other good news, there's bookshelves in this dimension, and mooshrooms for that leather I've been looking for. Finally can do some enchanting!
I only have one question. I found a room with an odd structure labeled "to tomb of demons" on four sides, which had a TON of spawners. I don't see an entrance to any sort of tomb here though. What am I missing?
the 'are you stuck? click here' one, in the empty space where in previuos version you would fall into they void if you moved too much
If by reload you mean just exit and get back to the map, then It's not a huge problem.
There is a bug with the game atm that end & nether portals can disable redstone clocks.
But I'll check that button to see if I wired everything properly. Thanks for telling.

I love this map , but the texture pack wasn't working
Netherrack looks in Minlike water,
Brick , brick slabs , gold blocks , brick stairs , pumpkin and the jack o' lantern was half on fire ,
Fire was textured as ''fire text hnlt '' ,
The nether portal block looks like water ,
Diamond chestplate and diamond leggings was half diamond armor , half clock and compass
Do I need MCPatcher ? Or some other program
Oh , and I am playing Minecraft 12w49a
As for pressing the button, I did, and then I did. These dungeons make vechs maps look like candyland. being able to turn the zombie spawners into a renewable diamond armor grinder is awesome though.
Hey, mgplatinum, and I do a survival series on you ant farm and I was wondering if you could implement the map update to my map for me like you did for antvenom. thanks,

I don't think it is. Where is that button?

you need the most up to date MCpatcher, since it's a 32x. Surprisingly, it's actually updated to the snapshot. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1496369-12w49a-145-132-etcupdate-128-mcpatcher-hd-fix-244/
