Deja Vu:
The Reincarnation of Steve
How do you describe yourself? A worker on an assembly line? A farmer? A simple office drone? Maybe even a hardened criminal? Regardless of our individual missions in life we are all faced with difficult decisions. Our lives, although different in many ways, are all intimately intertwined and our actions as individuals, no matter how subtle, may have a dramatic effect on not only us personally, but the people who surround us. Make sure to choose wisely. It could all be over at any moment, and who knows what happens after that...
Map Facts:
Deja Vu is an RPG style Minecraft custom map with deep story integration that takes advantage of a new, untapped gameplay mechanic making it very innovative and original in both story and gameplay. It is predicted to take about an hour and a half to play through properly, maybe more for the 100% crowd. Multiplayer gameplay has been verified!
Rules:
-Play on easy or normal
-No breaking blocks
-No placing blocks
-Read all the signs
You will most likely spawn outside the play area, in the redstone wiring. If you spawn in an obsidian room, you are in the right place. If not, just kill yourself and the map should work from there; all you will have missed is the rules area.
I could tell you how to play the map so as to preserve the intended single player experience, but it's probably more fun to do what you want and see what happens.

Our Glowing Reviews:
All taken from the thread below.
"Review Summary:
A unique theme; reincarnate through 8 different lives (or levels), each with multiple completion options, until you learn to make the "right" choices in life. Depending on the choices you make in each level (often moral choices), you will respawn in a DIFFERENT location! You can truly complete the story via multple paths. Each level is its own puzzle (a sequence of buttons, levers, or pressure plates) and has three hidden levers as a scoring mechanism. If you are looking for an optimal score, you will have to experience some of the lives multiple times, making different choices. Each level also has its own storyline and is very well detailed in terms of build. You will experience humor, horror, and suspense.

"I finally got to play D?j? Vu. And oh my god. I don't even know what to say. I'm pretty sure one sentence can sum all of my thoughts up: This is the best map I have ever played.
It's just perfect. It reminded me A LOT of the movies "Source Code" and "D?j? Vu", but I guess that was the point.
I loved it. " - Bakufreak (of "The Emperor of Minopia")
"If god created a map, this would be it! What you have here is a true gem! Brilliant!"
- CWHunt456 (of "Cube Inc.")
"great map !!
the best experience in minecraft ever !!" - stratocrafteur (of "THE TOURIST")
"Wow. That was brilliant. This is how to put the Minecraft spawning mechanics to a good use. The storyline is fantastic, the way the map is strung together is excellent. The only grudge I have is that some of the borders looked bad (giant sandstone wall in the desert). Other than that, this map is amazing.
I would personally rate it a 19/20, although I agree with rsmalec's review 100%." - ColdFusionGaming (of "Gloria")

I played it, but there's this real fun glitch where I can't get past the first level (Even though I did it perfectly) and now I'm jus tstuck at the f****ing office, so fix that please, because I liek this map and I know there is at least ONE more life to live and then heaven

Have you talked to the boss? If you have, you can just take the elevator.
While I don't see any bug to get stuck in the office, I did find a bug that made it easier than it should be to play the map, so I fixed that and updated to 1.1.
I have downloaded it. It's one of the best one that I have played, but it's quite repetitive. Please, read the spoiler :wink.gif:
I think that each story should be longer, because they are small and that's why it seems to be repetitive. But trust me, it's a great idea and I have absolutely no idea about how you made it! It's like a sorcery! :biggrin.gif:
There are some size constraints to the sorcery, but mostly we didn't want to get too involved and ruin the magic so we kept it on the short side. Compared to our first map, Top Ramen (the super expansive non-repetitive storyless, themeless adventure), this was a definite change of pace.
Edit: And thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it.

Great! Now, how much do you need to hand deliver it to CaptainSparklez? (Also, we were thinking Groundhog Day during development.)
If he asks for more maps to play in Twitter, I'll gladly recommend it!
Oh yeah, Groundhog Day... I remember when Source Code came out, someone suggested that movie to me. Never watched it though :l
Groundhog day is the same day over and over, so this actually became something very different from that and more similar to what you were comparing it to, but that was actually incidental.

Badabing!
Also, this map might be quite heavy on the processing at specific times, so I wish you luck and lag-free recording.
Well, "a story" might not be the most accurate description. You'll see why.
I hope you enjoy it, we think we've got something pretty unique here.
I don't make spelling mistakes, I make new words

We got the idea from this thread.

Alright!
shhhh... you'll ruin the surprise!

(For those who don't know, I'm one of the two guys that made this.)
Great! Now, how much do you need to hand deliver it to CaptainSparklez? (Also, we were thinking Groundhog Day during development.)
There is a void in your soul if you haven't seen Groundhog Day. It's quite good.
Groundhog day is the same day over and over, so this actually became something very different from that and more similar to what you were comparing it to, but that was actually incidental.
And thanks a bunch for the compliment!
Hahahaha, shameless promotion!
Ties! And so much MORE!
The ties are just the beginning! (can you say... photocopier?)
Are you kidding? Trash Cans!
