Ihave downloaded this map maybe 12 times, mainly due to updates, and a special button in a speacial place causing me to lose a certain something. :sad.gif:
You sir have a crazy fetish for blue spiders in giant trees. I swear it took me 45 minutes to reach the top, and not I can't even find the bird cage for the disc. Any hints....?
But overall, great map. The amount of mobs doesn't completely ruin it, unlike some maps. Probably because of the structures being so unique. Anyways, keep it up

Also, quick question to three_two. We've had some weird lighting problems going on (see our videos, they are hard to miss). Someone on my channel suggested it might be a problem with the bedrock ceiling only being 1 thick (is it?). Have you heard of any similar problems so far? Or is it just an SMP problem?
Other than the increased amount of dying, I'm having a lot of fun on the map. I even went back to farm wood/wool/dirt so we would be a bit better prepared on our next session. :wink.gif:

Glad you guys are having fun! Ill have to check the wiki on that lighting bug. We didn't have problems with the lighting when we loaded the map in SMP but, SMP is a strange animal. I can see how the ceiling would effect the lighting that way. If you guys want me to take a shot at fixing that for you I'm more than happy to. I don't have work today so I should be able to patch things up fairly quickly, Just zip up the world save or at least the level.dat and PM me the link. I'll see what I can do.

The big tree is really... big. By now you've noticed there is a main chamber with connecting chambers. The tricky part is, not all the chambers are connected. You'll have to "branch" out :wink.gif:
No minecarts in the railway chest in the big tree. The player is likely to go here first, so it seems odd to give them all that track and no minecarts.
also... sice im LPing on an old version of the map... and you added loot to the JBM, would it be wrong if i put chests witht the correspondging loot there using creative? i would NEVER cheat myself anyhting... just sthe stuff the player would have gotten if they made it there in the newest patch (im assiming the dispensers only fire if the record is played so i can only take them after i get a record?)
Basically all thats in the JBM dispensers is 2 golden apples and 16 coal. So yeah, if you want to gift yourself those items I wouldn't consider it cheating. Sorry about the updates. I thought I had a solid release but it's just too big of a map to not have a few flaws. The rest of the recent update was mostly SMP related except for me turning up the traps and evilness in my favorite dungeon. I'm sure you won't miss that much... ...probably just die a little bit less xD

three_two, you should really have more replies on this topic! I have seen tons of people LPing your maps, and I must say that these are certainly the best CTM maps ever (well besides Vechs', but he invented the genre, after all). Because I am making a CTM map myself, I know firsthand how much time and effort you've put into these maps (and probably your future maps). I really thought my map was good until I looked at yours .
Anyway, I'm sure people tell you this all the time, but you're really awesome, and I can't wait for the next map to be out.

The Innovative, and amazing look of this map made me download it.

This map is simply stunning. I began it last night with a few friends, and we had a lot of fun (And died quite a bit). However, the lighting issue plagued the hell out of us. Not being able to know what's actually lit up has made the starting island more difficult than it should be (Read: Placing torches every few blocks to be safe).
We'll be starting over on the updated version, as we haven't gotten very far yet (Just to the JBM), and the lighting is a far bigger problem.
Anyways, I just dropped by to give you some feedback. While we haven't had the chance to explore any of the dungeons yet, based on what we've seen, as well as the overhead maps, we're all completely blown away.
I might do a Let's Play when we get started (Probably not going to start up again until this weekend; finals week), but I'm not entirely sure my computer will be able to. We'll see.
Either way, I'll probably post periodic updates here.

Ahh man! I do apologize for the glitchy lighting. The only SMP testing I did on this map prior to release was on maps my beta testers already played through. I just didn't notice the lighting errors since the maps were already lit. Hopefully this latest patch fixes the problem for you.

three_two, I found water blocks so can I use them or am I breaking the rules?
Oh yeah, theres water to be had in this map. The only water that's not intended for use is in the chest at the top of the smp spawn hole in the ceiling.
OMFG this is one of the best maps i've ever played!!! a little frustrating at times though, like when i fell after 6 hours of playing...with all my stuff.... Keep up the good work man!
