Suggestions for Super-Hardcore Pro:
Here's my super-challenge version of the puzzle, and assumes players are running Minecraft 1.9. It's harder because of the added challenges, and even moreso because all the clues are removed by removing the redundant challenges - all the challenges from before are implicitly necessary to complete the other challenges anyway. People don't need clues, just the Minecraft Wiki. I've reduced the amounts to make them less tedious.
Differences from 1.1, to be changed in the map:
1. Remove the string, it's unnecessary.
2. Remove the mushrooms, as with Hardcore Pro, since they make the start easier.
3. Likewise remove the melon slice and the bone. Players might go hungry for a while, but if they're good enough they can get rotten flesh before they start losing health.
4. Add two pigs and a cow to the island! This would make the start really challenging, since you need to protect the animals to complete challenges #2 and #10. The animals are necessary at the start since they don't spawn in 1.9. And hey Noobcrew is obviously ok with the start possibly requiring a restart, since you don't always get a sapling from the tree...
Challenges are to obtain the following:
1. 5 cooked fish.
2. 10 grilled pork chops.
3. 5 snow golems.
4. 5 bookcases.
5. 10 stone bricks.
6. 5 blocks orange wool.
7. 5 blocks lime wool.
8. 5 blocks gray wool.
9. A bow and a full complement of 64 arrows.
10. A cake.
11. A music disk.
Also, it would be nice if there were 14 redstone in the chest. Then the following could be added:
12. A glasshouse or other large glass structure.
13. A clock.
Yes these are possible, given redstone:
#12: Create sand using a glitch with pistons. Slime balls are the hardest thing to get (from nether or not), possible but a real pain.
#13: Unlimited gold can be obtained from the nether in 1.9.
Some players would use all 14 redstone to make the portal, and then be screwed, unable to make the pistons or clock :tongue.gif:
Of course the nether would be cleaned out to be as sparse as possible, just enough to spawn a portal, all other blocks & lava removed...
EDIT 5 Oct: Challenges depending on spawning friendly mobs aren't possible with 1.9rc since friendly mobs don't spawn.
EDITs 6 Oct: Added map changes, including adding two pigs and a cow, so all challenges can be completed in 1.9. Removed bed, melons, mushrooms. Replaced jack-o-lanterns with snow golems. Improved #12 and spoiler.
Loving the map but i'm having a slight problem:
How can i get the animals to spawn? I've got dirt and light but nothing seems to be happening! Any help would be much appreciated
of all the times when ive had thousands of chests full of dirt thinking why would i ever need dirt, here i am wishing i had more... I need a better cobble genorator mines not very efficiant. This is a pretty fun map, I was making a map like this except with multiple bigger islands. (btw you don't say weather or not to play in peaceful, easy, normal...)
HONESTLY WTF!!

Smash the melon slice.
Playing MInecraft since February 22, 2011
How do I do this?
Plus, Furnace + log + fuel = charcoal
grass
Put the Melon in the Crafting table and you'll get a seed!
