The 2nd ice block is in the nether.
Build a platform under the sand b4 you touch it.
To ignite the portal put wood on both sides, 1 block higher on one side and 1 block lower on the other side.
Light with lava flowing around wood on one side.
Remember portal is 2x3 opening.
By the wood on both sides, do you mean put wood Inside the portal or outside?
It is actually really easy, if the wood burns out before it lights, try again (though I've never had that happen to me)
The rest will be in spoilers, each step in a separate spoiler
First Step
First, set up the portal (I wasn't in SkyBlock for this, therefor had 14 obsidian not 10)
Second
Set up the wood, and a little barrier so the lava doesn't go everywhere
Third
Place the lava down, let it catch fire to one of the planks, then grab it back up
Fourth
Both planks should be burning..
Fifth
The portal should be lit, if not - try again
Hope this helped somehow, good-luck with SkyBlock :smile.gif:
TL;DR - Set up portal, put wood at base and back of portal, light wood at base, let it spread to back, BAM portal lit.
I managed to convert my mob spawner into a spider only spawner by filling in the top layer with half-slabs.
I didn't really think it would work and the drop rate is better then expected. It's roughly a fourth of the drop rate from the original design but I can add a second layer if I want to speed it up.
How come every time i break the ice to start of my cobble stone generator it freezes back up to an ice block? helps please
It's in an ice biome, water refreezes unless a block next to it has a light level of 12, place a torch on the block next to the water and it won't freeze again, you might need to place 2 torches though, that's what i did. Also, cover saplings or they will die if it snows, by putting 1 block 8 blocks over it.
On another note, I touched the sand island and it fell, so I didn't get any sand only the cactus while luckily fell on the chest and the chest's contents Q.Q
Is it just me, or in 2.1 (beta 1.8.1) does water have lighting issues? Can't use water in my mob spawner cuz when I take away my torches it keeps the light in the water

Check out this EPIC game VoidSpace, a Work-In-Progress, cross-platform universe MMO. I'm more excited for this game than I am for everything else... except CIV: Beyond Earth http://strt.cc?r=ZGFob29wc0BsaXZlLmNvbQ__
Well V2 was a let down... I thought you could have done something more... Coz the sand island - just increases time and cobblestone you need to collect to get some items. Than the nether island... Yeah nice little block of glowstone... Again just more time spent getting items.
V2 is essentially pointless... It doesn't add any different focus on survival or anything.
All V2 does is extend the time it takes to kick off and start actually developing your farms etc
Only thing in V2 I like is the fact that you get more sand and 3 more dirt. The glowstone I guess could be helpful if making a big underwater thing.. But yeah..
Very let down by V2.
In short - Better off Sticking with V1.

Be sure to goto %appdata% and then goto the saves folder... then open the skyblock folder and make sure its the map and not a readme, challenges, and then the map in one folder... isolate the map file and then put THAT folder in your saves and it should work. If it does not contact me at [email protected] :biggrin.gif: i can help :biggrin.gif:
ok well i have the map playable in minecraft but in stead of the skyblock survival map i just spawn in a forest- thats with 1.8 - then i tryed with 1.9 and now im just in a snowy forest...and yes i did what u told me to do ..it even says the world name skyblock 2.1 in minecraft where all your worlds are..also in the snowy forest there is glass blocks leading to the sky limit.. i dont know wat thats about
Yeh, any ideas on how I can add more dirt and sand? Cobble stone/stone you can make with water and lava. and such should I just add sand and dirt to the chest?
how are you supposed to collect obsidian w/o a dia pick??

What exactly could I have done more? It probably increases the time by 5mins to get to the sand island, and making the island in the nether out of netherrack and soulsand would have been pointless, making it out of something like dirt would have made it look out of place. Again it takes a couple mins if you know what your doing to make the nether portal. I don't see why you are complaining about the length of time it takes to start off.
I'm also having Installation problems. I have already installed this map back when it was new, and then deleted it. But now when I try to Install the downloaded file, and It says "Cannot find file" Help?
