Alright, I am happy with the way the map looks so far, so I sent it off to the beta testers. I'm going to work to get the texture pack right for the mobs, then I will release it sometime tomorrow.
I really enjoyed your map, and I'm posting the preview on my thread now. I do want to point out there are a few glitches with the texture pack that make it so that the purple blocks show up around the item. But still, an incredible map.
released v. 0.9.1. I think I made the error of assuming everyone would know how to play the game without any instruction, so I added a map, an intro, and directions along the way. Let me know how it works.

AWESOME video! Many thanks! I posted it on the first page and gave a link to your youtube channel :biggrin.gif:
Guys please give me feedback if you play this map. I worked very hard on this map for two months. It's a huge project and I put a lot of effort into it. It deserves some feedback, so please just take a few seconds and leave a comment about what you thought.
I got stuck at the very beggining. I got out of the house THEN WHAT??? If i didnt play it on the gameboy I wouldnt know what to do. And i couldnt find the sword. So i spawned one. Then in the middle of the first dungeon(Luckly i played the game and i knew where it was) It broke and i died. You should put single player commands keep items on death. also items dont break. It was kinda hard to understand... Mabey a note system?
I look forward to the completed version!

Perhaps it would help if I started off to say what I thought of my play through:
First of all, it is very detailed. A lot more than others I've seen posted on Youtube. The texture pack for this map is spot on and adds a very real feel while playing. However, the game play was a bit limited (no fighting, no pulling/pushing blocks, no keys besides redstone torches, etc.) due to wanting to keep the map mods/cheats/hacks free. I think if Minecraft had more options, the biggest I think would be monster control. Creepers are a pain, no one wants Ka-Blewey! on their map. Assuming Minecraft had options like that, the map would be even more stellar. Overall though, it was well put together and thought through. I'd give it 10/10, personally. :laugh.gif:
In other news, I've been working on taking the map and adding AdventureCraft parts into (rain at intro, NPCs and what they say, etc. The only thing that should be lacking would be the custom bosses and maybe custom skins (2D into 3D artwork is sorta beyond me). Everything else should be possible.
The biggest hurdle of the transition is all the text the player reads. I get to rewrite all of it. :ohmy.gif:

I fell into the same thing as you in terms of weapons running out and no idea where to go (been ages since I've played the game.) The problem with Single Player Commands is that the map was geared to be Mod/Cheat/Hack free. That's why I started an AdventureCraft version to see if I could make it even better. Besides that, I believe there have been a couple people asking for such a version. :wink.gif:

OOOoooHHHhh an adventurecraft version would be great. I tried playing around with adventurecraft and it is sooooooooo confusing. I figured out how to build and thats it. Im looking forard to either the full map or AC version!
There is a note included in the download, it gives you the text from the games intro and tells you you have to start in the castle dungeon. I even included a world map so you would know where the castle was. Not sure how to make it much easier.
Im kind of at a loss here. I would have thought, considering how popular lttp, or even zelda in general, is, people would have loved this map. Instead it gets so little support other than the people working on it. I really want to know why that is. Is there really a problem with people finding out what to do? Are you downloading the game, skipping the intro, then finding out there are no signs as soon as you start so you just move on? I really want to know. This took up two months of my time and to be honest I'm extremely disappointed with the way the forums have received this map.

From rereading the complete thread, these people commented on the thread and showed interest in playing the 'complete' map. (Yes, I realize it's not quite complete, but you can still play it.):
Here's the list:
penguinswin3, Ieges, Lgjoka2002, twothums, oddryan, CommanderLink, BlackZangief, Parnash, Brocknoth00, yy, C0X, Loyalty, Barisaxy95, Eledb and Nantang.
Out of those, only two people (penguinwin3 and Nantang) have gave any feedback at all, yet there are over 300+ downloads. That's 0.006% out of all the downloads). Really guys? To me it seems like no one really cares about it and only wants the finished product. No mentioning of any comments to possibly make it even better!
I also understand that many of you want an AdventureCraft version of it. I am currently working on it. I'm doing my best as I'm still learning but learning fast! :laugh.gif:
Regardless though, you guys could still comment on the original project. :dry.gif:
Technically Speaking
