Im going to try to update the map this weekend for 1.8 and add a few more things. I think I may need to improve the in game instructions too.
Get an Adventurecraft release up or I'll just have to recreate it myself... hell, even a demo for that would help. Why don't you make the opening sequence structures and upload that?
Finishing terrain is nice, but the map needs to be more playable if you want to increase its popularity.

I think Koros said he was working on an adventurecraft version. As much as I would love to do it myself, I dont have the time anymore to do it. I have no idea how to create anything in adventurecraft so I would have to learn first.
So I went to download the map so I can do a quick playthrough to see what changes needed to be worked on. Imagine my embarassment when I realized I had my whole save file instead of just the map. Well it's fixed now, so no more confusion. Also switched from megaupload to mediafire to let people download it faster

It's true that I have been working on an AdventureCraft version and it's been painstakingly slow. For the most part, I understand all the blocks, but having to go through the whole map piece by piece is a huge endeavor. Besides, that, I'm working alone since the people I know I play with haven't even touched AdventureCraft and want nothing to do with making a map - only playing it. =/
So, after seeing your stuff, and comparing it to what I've done, I think you could do a much better job. You've had way more practice than me. Moreover, you have a team, yes? If so, you could probably get it done in a very short time. Let's see if Peanuts wouldn't mind me handing it over to you, k?

I wish I could help you with the project. I've taken a look at scripting and thought about starting work on the conversion, but it would be so big that I wouldn't know where to begin. At this point I think I'm lucky if I manage to get a few small updates to the vanilla map.
In an effort to earn the map a little more publicity, I decided to do a ustream and shoot the link up in a few message boards. I get about 20 people and start playing when I found out, of all people, one of my viewers is Sacheverell. For those of you who recognize the name, its the same sacheverell who posts news articles and digital diamonds on the home page of these forums. He was so impressed with my work that he offered to post a digital diamond of this map, and went further to say that if he had time, he might do a walkthrough with voiceover. I'm pretty amazed I just got to talk to him on a ustream of my own map. I feel starstruck.

That's what I'm talking about. So far, I've had to go through what you made and add a bunch of things to each area (weather for beginning, text for guards/the NPCs themselves, the monsters (and their spawners), the items (sword/shield, boomerang, etc.), the doors, and apparently I have to redo ALL the ladders because AdventureCraft likes to rotate them 90 degrees. Besides that, I've had to learn which each block can/can't do so I can make the best version possible. So much work! :ohmy.gif:
I liked it. Just ONE problem: Creepers. The exploding of the landscape just doesn't seem very... well... Zeldaish. I just need to find a good Creeper nerf.
The other concern with the AC version would be whether or not we decide to redo the interiors and have teleport blocks link the map with the individual interiors. It would make the map play better but would be a tremendous amount of additional work. I may or may not start working on that when I am finished with the vanilla.

Yeah I noticed that too. I might post a link in the download to an optional creeper mod

Were you meaning ALL the interiors for everywhere (much like Morrowind or Oblivion does) or were you leaning mostly towards the bigger areas, such as the dungeons or even the Lost Forest?

I think mostly bigger areas. Mainly anything that is out of proportion when you walk into it. Some of the smaller buildings are like that too. I think the forest looks fine though.

Wileynator also made an awesome review for the map.

Did you read what you were supposed to? The intro tells you to go rescue the princess in the castle dungeon.
This looks really cool!
I'm DEFINITELY going to get this map!
