It's done! Making more parts as we're reading. I'm still a beginner LPer, but every LP of this helps right?
Thanks a lot! I've watched the first five minutes, and it's nice! I wish I could add the video to the first post, but I've already reached the video limit for it. At least, it'll be here permanently, so that still works!
EDIT: Well, I made some space by taking away a few videos that weren't part 1's, so I added it!
This is the best adventure/puzzle map I have ever played in Minecraft so far. Me and my friend got a score of 128 points. Can you please add our score to the scoreboard. Our names are: gappydoo275 and megymoo99. Here is the screenshot for proof:
Thanks!
I'm happy you had a good time! Your score was added, and you're the first to enter the scoreboard as two players, so that's nice!
Did you encounter any bugs and/or issues while playing? Any favourite part? Any least-favourite part?
No, I didn't find any bugs or issues while I was playing, which was great.
My favourite parts were: The amazing story which you had created inside the castle and the massive scale of the map. It was also very clever how every place linked together. I also loved the arcade in the Nether area of the world, as it provided a small break and all of the 3 minigames were fun.
I have no least-favourite part as overall, the whole map was fantastic.
I like to keep track of what parts players liked the most, to try and convey the same feelings in my next map! So far, the scale and story have been enjoyed a lot, as well as the links between the areas. I'll do my best to try and reproduce those feelings in a different way next time around!
Truly outstanding adventure, played it with a friend of mine in SMP think we got 172 but i cant take a screenshot now since we just spend the last two hours burning the castle to the ground. Im glad you made it mostly out of wood and wool, really helped to enjoy destroying your hard work.
Didnt find the very well hidden easter egg untill i set fire to the bookcases around it.
This is only the third adventure map we have tried so far, and im afraid we started with some of the best work.
I kinda find it hard to navigate these forums, how can i see what other work you have done?
I'm glad you had fun! I hear this map is very enjoyable in Multiplayer, so I'm definitely making my next one with SMP in mind. This one isn't the greatest map out there, that's for sure, but if you want to find some of the best there is, take a look at Rsmalec's thread where he reviewed hundreds of maps and ranked them from most enjoyable to least enjoyable (and that includes my two maps, although the first one is nothing spectacular since I stopped updating it).
If you want to see my future work, there's a thread for Project TMM, right here, where I'll update as I go along. Sorry if the pictures on the thread aren't showing yet, but I'm moving them over from Photobucket to Imgur, so give it a few hours and they'll be there. Just click "follow this topic" in the upper right corner of the thread, and you'll get updates whenever a new post is added there.
On my end it works fine, but I've learned in the past that it doesn't always guarantee that everything's fine. What happens exactly? You click on the link for either the .rar or .zip, go through adfly, click the "skip ad" button, and click "slow download" on the Fileswap page, which should begin the download. Where is the problem happening? Is the adfly link messing things up? Or is Fileswap not giving you the file, perhaps?
I'd really like to know, just in case it's another problem on the website's end!
Wow. Just wow. I've seen lots of custom maps but this. This is amazing. And lots of youtubers done it? this must be a hit! I'm looking forward to playing this. And i love the music. I may have just got here on the 4th but this. This is style. This is minecraft kicking up a notch, lol notch. This is a map i and 100's, no, 100,000,000's of people can enjoy. Thank you for making this.

Heheh, it's not that much. Besides, I still haven't properly updated it to 1.5, so it might have a few bugs right now.
That was an adventure to remember, I did die a lot of the times, though (especially in Bogmires sewers). But I would rate that a solid 8.5/10 that was a first custom map to remember. It took me a few days to complete because imma noob. P

Dear Nevik,
I'm happy that it was! Dying is fairly normal in the map, but hopefully, recovering wasn't too difficult, now that your inventory isn't wiped after death. I happily accept that rating, although there are quite a few details that could have been quite better! I hope you'll be one of the many players willing to play my next map, whenever it's done!
Wow, still responding to feedback. You, sir/madame, are an awesome map maker, and I hope to see more of your incredible work! The map was great, with an very good sense of humour and an all round incredible experience. I cannot wait for your next map! =)
Of course I still respond to feedback! All of it is quite precious to me, so I'd be awfully silly to ignore it. Thanks for the compliment, and I'm glad the map entertained you a bit!
I'm glad you're keeping this map up to date! I know it's a major pain to update sometimes, but I bet it's still a blast after all these days.
Ironically enough, this one hasn't been updated to 1.5 yet I'm working on TMM more than anything else Minecraft-related at the moment, but I'll definitely update whenever I feel like it. I'm not even sure if anything is broken, but I guess I'll see when I get to it.
This is the very first adventure map I've ever played for Minecraft, and I must say I'm having a lot of fun so far! I'm a little bit confused about one part, though. Here's what happened:
So, after I finished reading the signs and rules, I went into the door and continued on the road, then I came into the big room with the pillar in the middle, which told me to continue forward. I continued going forward, and beat the trapdoor/TNT challenge, and then found myself in the challenge room (the one with the lava pit in the middle), and did some of the challenges. I'm currently on the "Wool Mirror" challenge, and I'm kind of stuck. I got the flint and steel from the chest, and then burned the brown wool. I don't know if I did anything wrong, but all that seemed to do was burn through a little bit of wall, leaving me in a wool/stone mixed room with some sand in front of me (or at least I think it's sand). The sand wall is two blocks high, so I can't get up, and I don't know what to do.
I wish I could describe it better, but there's basically a two block high sand wall in front of me, and some stone bits that look like they're part of a hallway. Anyway, I could really use some help 'cause I'm worried that I might destroy the wrong thing and mess up the map or something. I don't know if that's paranoid, but this is the first map I've played and I haven't been playing Minecraft in general that long, so I'm just not sure.
Anyway, I'm having a lot of fun so far, thanks for the awesome map!
P.S. The castle is awesome, I wish I could build as good as you!

Well, I'll start off by thanking you for playing, and saying I'm glad you've had fun so far! I'll also say, as always, that Revolvee is the one who built the castle, not me. So go compliment him, if anything! He has nice projects in the works.
Now, this "issue" you're having is a very simple one, and I wouldn't be surprised if you had figured it out by now. It has happened to a lot of players in the past, but I just consider it one of the less obvious puzzles. The sand was blocking the way to the control room in that little hub room you described before, with the lava at the center. By burning the wool, you allowed the sand to fall, opening the way to the control center where you are allowed to proceed! Therefore, you just have to get out of the Wool Mirror, and you'll be fine! Hope that helps.

Wow, thanks for responding so fast! I hadn't previously been to the control room before, so I wasn't aware of the sand blockage. Anyway, thank you so much for the help. I'll probably post again once I've finished the map to tell you what I thought and do a little review (possibly), anyway thanks again!
