Looking for areas where players on your server can fight, while keeping the rest of the world violence-free? Want a place where people can kill each other, but in more interesting ways than just smacking each other with swords on a grassy hill? Are you in search of a somewhat premade PvP area, but one that's still empty enough that you could build off of it to make it even better in your own way? Then you've come to the right thread!
Below are a selection of three different kinds of areas to download- the kinds under the "Deathmatch Arenas" section are PvP areas which I consider ready to be downloaded, added to your multiplayer server and played on. The recommended playstyle is to just kill everyone in sight on these maps; teams are optional. The types of areas under the other Arenas section are intended for team-oriented gameplay which revolves around either collecting the opposing team's flag or remaining on top of a hill long enough to gather more wool than the other team. Finally, the kinds of areas under the "Canvases" section are something you map makers should enjoy, as these are intentionally incomplete areas. I encourage map makers to download canvases for the sole purpose of adding onto them to give them your own, creative twist!
Please note that, despite being named "arenas," most of these will look nothing like your typical arena, the aptly named "Redundant v1" aside! I just call them that or "PvP areas" due to "maps" having several different meanings in Minecraft, while the word "arenas" is pretty straight-forward. That said, here are the arenas and canvases I've made! Once you've had a look at them, please post below telling me what you think!

Update Log!
Planned updates:
Oh, I dunno, maybe get around to making more arenas.
Planned possible updates:
None.
Planned updates will almost certainly be carried out at some point. Planned possible ones require input from people using these arenas/canvases so I know whether or not you guys think it'll be a good idea or a bad one. If too many people think an idea'll be a bad one and there's solid reasoning behind why they feel that way, chances are, I won't implement such an idea.
-------------------------
10/31 6:45 A.M: Added a section for CTF/KotH maps, Abandoned (CTF) and Abandoned (KotH).
6/13, 4:00 P.M: Added Redundant v1, v2 and v3.
6/4, 1:45 P.M: Updated Narrow v2 to feel less like a canvas, giving it considerably more variety than before, updated all of the screenshots of it accordingly, ADDED THE UPDATE LOG TO THIS POST.

F.A.Q./Concerns
"How are we supposed to play KotH when there's no reliable way of keeping track of how long each team has been on top of the hill?"
That's where the wool on top of the hill comes in. The team who's been up there the longest is assumed to be the team who collects the most wool from the top of the mountain and brings it back down to the chest in their base. The round ends once all the wool has been collected from the top of the hill. Whichever team has the most wool is the winner. Since there are 51 pieces of wool on each KotH map, it should be impossible for a round to result in a draw.
"Wait, why is one map in both the "Arenas" and "Canvases" sections? Shouldn't it just be in one or the other?"
Some PvP areas may be listed under both the "Arenas" and "Canvases" sections due to being "blank" enough to be considered a canvas, but still fulfilling a solid enough role as an area to provide PvP battles that it could be considered a complete arena, too.
Please note, all times listed- 4:30 A.M, 1:30 P.M, etc- are central time. If you need help with anything, don't hesitate to ask! Users who enjoyed these areas may also enjoy this transparent/x-ray/wireframe/wallhack texture pack!
The arenas have been updated! I've updated Narrow v2 to feel less like a canvas, giving it considerably more variety than before, updated all of the screenshots of it accordingly, and added the update log as a result of this, the first update! Enjoy! If you have any suggestions for areas you'd like to see in the future or improvements for existing ones, please post about it in here and thanks for your support!
This thread's been updated! I've added three new arenas, one of which also doubles as a canvas; the new arenas are Redundant v1, v2 and v3. Enjoy! As always, if you have any suggestions for areas you'd like to see in the future or improvements for existing ones, please post about it in here and thanks for your support!
These arenas are spectacular! These are definitely going on my server! Just a little tip though: You should let us download the map AND the .schematic file. I can't just upload this world to my server, but I can place a .schematic file into a piece of land on my server. You can make .schematic files with MCEdit (bit.ly/MCEdit). Then you can post the .schematic file on MCSchematics (http://www.mcschematics.com/) if you want more publicity. Great job! :biggrin.gif:
Thanks for the tip- I'll try to remember to look into that later!
This thread's been updated! I've added two new arenas, the first CTF and KotH maps; the new arenas are Abandoned (CTF) and Abandoned (KotH). Enjoy!
