So here is my new adventure map. The first being The Wizard Burgmund (which was a Yogscast playthrough a couple of weeks ago -
This is called The Tree of Life.
The story: Your home land is ravaged with famine, drought and pestilence. So the task has been given to you to find the tree of life to restore your once prosperous land to its former glory.
Like my last map there are in game signs telling you to read the included notes. This time around there are no walls of text!
So:
Play time should take 45-60 mins.
Can be played with 1-2 players.
There are also a number of gold bars throughout the map, so try and collect them all.
Make sure you read the readme for rules and hints/tips!
Very cool map... I love the end. I highly recommend it :biggrin.gif:
14 gold bars found
*edit* I'm a nooby map maker working on some maps... I was just wondering how do you get working monster spawners? :tongue.gif:

Woah great map buddie! I found 48 gold ingots :smile.gif:
10/10 for you.
My favourite bit was the upside down house, so trippy! :biggrin.gif:
I played this with my boyfriend and it took us much longer than 60 minutes. I'd estimate about 3 hours, maybe? Then again I knew from watching Yogscast play The Wizard Burgmund that it was possible a map you made could take someone a long time to complete! And even though it was long I thought the difficulty level was just right: difficult enough to be fun but not frustrating. We ended up with 50 gold bars.
Finished it after about an hour and 45 minutes, playing solo.
Of course, I also went into every nook and cranny I could find to see if there were any gold bars hidden, so it took me a bit longer :tongue.gif:
Ended up with 54 gold bars, and really curious as to where the others were, but the map was still VERY fun.
The funniest thing that happened to me was when I had all 3 keys, in the Temple-Door-Area, to 'unlock the way', I
ended up throwing the keys in the lava >.> I didn't realize at first you were supposed to stop the lava flows, so I just had to mine a few sandstone to block the lava. Who needs legendary keys anyway when you have sandstone >.>
Still an awesome map though, enjoyed it thoroughly.
Not bad, the only problem I had was that I missed the first gold key, and got lost at the underground river, another guide down there would help, since I felt like I was going in the wrong direction until the end. Oh, and the path down was a bit hidden after getting the glowdust.
Other than that, I enjoyed it alot! The temple trials felt 'Shadow Temple' (from OoT) to me, like, creepy, but, in a surreal kind of way.

If you're using something like Single Player Commands or TooManyItems when building maps, and either don't want to, or don't have the knowledge to use MCEdit, you can install Risugami's Mob Spawner GUI. Basically, when you place a monster spawner, you right click it, select what you want it to spawn, then hit escape. Viola'! :smile.gif:
Downloading, i'll keep you up to date on what's going on.
first impressions: too many supplies, but then again the yogscast is gonna be doing this so maybe this many supplies is good for them.

Note: Next time you feel like bringing up Herobrine, just delete Minecraft, your worlds, convince them to delete your forum account. Hell, melt down your computer, send it through a shredder, and scatter the flakes in the ocean.
