YOU SHOULD MAKE IT BIGGER 1 block equals .25 miles and have conteint downloads and a enitre world download, also make ore concentrations realistic that would be cool.
I challenge everyone to:
Swim the English Channel (LOL)
Circumnavigate the world (not that it's round... just go from one side to the other)
Walk from Shanghai to Paris
Swim the Pacific Ocean
Climb Mount Everest
Visit every city
I did all of them except for swim the pacific...I used a boat.
EDIT: I recently launched an expedition from L.A. to find Hawaii. In survival. It requires tons of food, but I did it, and I actually hit it on the first try! Its almost impossible to find, so here's coords for it too: -1159,9352.
Its actually not a bad settlement location if you don't like flat land. It took ages to get the food there to go back to L.A.
So new challenge: find Hawaii, live there.
FOREVER.
Optifine is awesome!
Now, when can Notch start using 3D instead of linear chunks for minecraft? It would massively improve performance, and increase height limits by hundreds of times. There are mods out there that do that already.

The Maximum size of a Minecraft map is SLIGHTLY bigger than earth, you my friend, have achieved that goal, that is big as earth yet not the maximum size of a Minecraft world

Not as long as it took him to make the map. But yeah, it took hours. You'd me surprised how short it takes, L.A. to Hawaii is barely 3 MC days (my base is in L.A. with a major outpost in Hawaii) The main thing is the food gathering, that takes FOREVER.
Don't spam and you can not just make a seed out of any terrain and the region files are what make it so big. So download the file and wait...
Most of the worlds problems are due to stupidity or ignorance.
