Yeah, it is sorta easy and very docile in the terrain. The dungeons are extremely fun and somewhat hard though. It's heaps of fun when you get into it!
Also, congrats on 666 posts, *******. You deserve them.
You and I fight like an old married couple. Too bad it's Amalon and I who are married, and not you and me.

and yes, 666 posts! Now I have posted 666 times on the Minecraft Forums and now I officially have no life.
Hybran , I think you'll find you're a quarter of the way through this map : 4 versions , remember ? Play the others and see whats different !
Come to think of it , it would be cool if there were only 4 wools per version and all of them had to be retrieved ( and therefore all 4 map versions defeated ) to be counted as a win . Or am I being too much of a shithead ?!!

Technically they're all just randomized loot so I could easily breeze through it again and again. I didn't have trouble past the diamonds with loot so even if there was a gamebreaker I could easily recover with just starting from scratch.
Harumph ! You're going to be lording it over all of us until VF II is released and we can all watch our avatars die horribly .
Oh and Muzuh ? Thanks ......
People... a great thing happened today. Vechs thought his little castle could hold me back, but he was wrong.
Nightmare Realm Update No. (whatever): The Assault on Balestein
Part 1: Bridging
After finishing the Eternal Tears, I decided that Winter Wonderhell awaited exploration.
First exploring Cold Cave, I managed to reach the fleecy-box without much trouble - mainly I just had to avoid cheaty snow holes. At the bottom, the creepers were quite eager to help me destroy their spawners. That was fine with me.
After an easy wool, I knew that Winter Wonderhell surely held more challenges for me.
However, instead of exploring it on foot, I decided to bridge over. The advantages were clear: I didn;t have to deal with mobs and cheaty snow, and I could see more.
First, I bridged straight out from the VM, until I saw something in the distance.
And as I beheld the Jester Citadel, fear came into my eyes.
I was going to tackle that later.
I then decided to branch off to the right, facing WW from the VM. And I did so until I saw a giant, floating fortress... Balestein Castle.
Using an enderpearl to get down from my bridge, I bult a ladder back up to it, and a small forward base at the top of the staircase leading to the bridge to the castle. Here I stored weapons, armour, food, tools, blocks, and other supplies.
But before I began the attack on the castle, I decided to investigate a glass dome I'd seen in the fog while bridging. Part 2: Sanctuary
Digging down to it from the top of a small hill, I was surpised to see grass, wood, flowers and an open fleecy-box. I entered tentatively, expecting traps. Area: Sanctuary. Surprised by the lack of traps, I entered the fleecy-box, to find it full of brown wool. Well, that explains it, then. Part 3: The First Assault
After returning my newly-found wool to the VM, I geared up to finally attack the monster that was Balestein. Iron armour: check. Iron tools: check. Bow and arrows: check. Food: check. Blocks and torches: check.
Without further ado, I rushed over the bridge, to get an early greeting from some Blazes. Ignoring them, I continued up the stairs, killed the skeleton and silverfish spawners, and entered the dining hall, lighting it up. I nabbed some bread from the chest, and continued up the staircase. Here, things got heavy with Blazes, skeletons, and zombies. I made a tactical retreat back to my base.
Returning, I safely lit up the rooms, and grabbed my purple wool; I was surprised by its presence.
After stowing it away, I continued upwards, and entered the room with the spider spawners and the staircase in the middle. Slaying 4, and a Blaze, I lit it and its adjoining rooms up, and blocked off the staircase after being attacked by cave spiders.
As I began to hear the Blazes and spiders multiply above me, I started to light up the room from below with some of the glowstone I'd found in a chest. Deciding to push upwards, I was overwhelmed by the multitude of mobs up there; cave spiders and Blazes are a deadly combo. Realising the danger, I immediately ran away, back through the castle. However, in the time I'd been inside, many Blazes had spawned too... Part 4: The Second Assault
And so, dodging Blazes and skeletons on the way back down (while on fire), I was sprinting down the entrance staircase when I simply burned to death. Dangit Vetches!
Death Count: 13.
However, I recovered my stuff, and using my bridge to Balestein as a lookout post, I reviewed my progress. I was about two-thirds of the way up the main tower, with one room to go.
Returning to the room with the staircase, I found it to be a lot quieter than last time. I quickly entered the room, which was already well lit from before, and destroyed the cave spider spawner. That one spawner had caused me a lot of trouble...
Nevertheless, I continued on, lighting up some more dark rooms, and collecting the yellow wool after carefully killing the creepers inside, making sure they didn't blow up the fleecy-box. That had already happened to me in Spellbound Caves... Part 5: The Throne Room
After dropping off the yellow wool, I continued on, coming to the top of the first tower. Seeing the diamond blocks in Vechs' throne room, I ran in...
To be rained on by Blazes and cave spiders. Narrowly escaping the castle, pursued by Blazes and Ghasts, I thought of a strategy to claim the diamond blocks; one for the VM, and a few for armour and a sword.
I tried tunneling, but that didn't work. The diamond blocks were sitting on obsidian, and cave spiders are not the nicest mobs to have enter your tunnel.
After a failed second attempt after escaping, I decided to try my luck sprinting in there again.
No luck; I was forced to escape before I could physically finish mining the blocks.
And again, I failed to sprint in there and collect the blocks, even after eating a golden apple.
After some thought, I dismissed the option of destroying the spawners in the roof; too many mobs would spawn above me. The last thing I needed was to be met by dozens of Blazes and Ghast on the way out.
Finally, I decided to enderpearl to the throne, collect one of the diamond blocks, and enderpearl out again.
Executing this, I made sure to desecrate Vechs' throne, and managed to grab a diamond block - but not after being bitten by multiple cave spiders. I managed to make a narrow escape from the throne room, with half a heart of health keeping me alive. But then there was a skeleton on the staircase down...
NO.
I smacked him in the face with my sword, and he missed me.
After blocking myself off to recover my health, I safely escaped from the castle, sniping the few Ghasts that were flying around, to prevent them from destroying my base. Part 6: The Vandalism and Desecration of Vechs' Private Quarters (my favourite part!)
After a break, I resupplied to finally breach Vech's living quarters, and disrespect his property. Getting back to the top of the castle, I began to advance to his bedroom, but not after collecting some spare armour, as well as a diamond pick and sword. YESSSS.
Putting my new sword to work, I tested it on some of the (surprisingly numerous) naturally spawned mobs at the top. Easily defeating them, I entered Vech's private living complex. I grabbed some more loot in the library-type room, avoided the obviously trapped painting room, and took a huge dump in Vechs' toilet, making sure not to flush. I also left the shower and taps running. I then entered his luxuriously furnished living room, flipped all the sofas and tables, and poured out his plants on the floor. I destroyed the spawners, and, at a leisurely pace, walked up the staircase into his bedroom. Avoiding the strange stain on his bed, I T-bagged it and urinated all over the sheets, then collapsed the top of it onto the bed. Victoriously, I collected a piece of black wool, and happily escaped the conquered castle, once and for all.
Balestein ain't got nothing on me.
Okay guys, thanks for reading again. I now have only three wools to get in the map, and I know where they are. For the first time, my wool count is higher than my death count. That makes me very happy.
Balestein was an awesome area, despite being the toughest part of the map yet. Blazes are very hard to fight without potions, as I learnt today.
However, despite fierce resistance, Balestein has been conquered.
Next stop: Jester Citadel.
People... a great thing happened today. Vechs thought his little castle could hold me back, but he was wrong.

Vinyl Fantasy II.
Go on the east boundary of the forest for a while.
Also, this is not a good starter map. Try Infernal Sky II, it is MUCH more starter-friendly.

Balestein ain't got nothing on me.
Balestein was an awesome area, despite being the toughest part of the map yet. Blazes are very hard to fight without potions, as I learnt today.
However, despite fierce resistance, Balestein has been conquered.
Next stop: Jester Citadel.
Your story is too long so I shortened it:

Get wool.
Disrespect Vechs.
WIN

As for the reasons behind the Hardcore difficulty on Lethamyr...
Umm...
