i love your maps Vechs but i can't play them on anything but peaceful because of the spawners.
Too many mobs at one time is killing my cpu
I humbly request a Vechs Super Hostile Map that don't use spawners.
Hmmmm...there was that one dungeon in Sea of Flame II...(okay, it had one Ghast spawner, big deal.)
I doubt it will ever happen, though. They wouldn't be super hostile without spawners. This map series probably isn't for you, then.
I do remember hearing about a map Vechs was working on that was supposed to be more like a harder version of regular Minecraft, but I don't really know what exactly that means. We haven't heard much about it.

#37) Ores tend to spawn in packs
If you take one out you better be ready to take on its angry cousins!
Took out an over head coal node once and was snuffed by a gang of Gravel seeking revenge!
Finally done with Nightmare Realm! Actually, I've been done with it for a while, but could not for the life of me figure out how to use those darn spoiler tags. Anyway, here's my finished monument along with a brief description of my experiences in obtaining each wool.[s]
WHITE WOOL - This one wasn't too hard. I just dashed in, grabbed the wool, healed myself, and got the hell out of there. And never came back.
ORANGE WOOL - I actually wasn't expecting to find wool here, but I discovered it as I dug around looking for spawners.
MAGENTA WOOL - This one was really difficult. I just hate it when a skeleton shoots me off into the Void and I lose all my building materials.
LIGHT BLUE WOOL - Not too hard, pretty straightforward. Those creeper spawners at the end did kill me, though.
YELLOW WOOL - Tricksy, Vechs. Verrrry tricksy. Except for one thing: I didn't actually need to enter the wool room to get the wool. I just broke one of the glass blocks and accessed the chest from there.
LIME WOOL - It's a good thing I'm in the 1.9 prerelease, otherwise I wouldn't have had the INCREDIBLE PRIVILEGE (*note sarcasm) of seeing those BLAZES at the end. GAHHHH
PINK WOOL - Is this place a reference to Wolfenstein? Whatever. It's annoying either way. Especially that room with the Fun Box under the Silverfish blocks. *shivers*
GRAY WOOL - This one was the same thing as the Pink Wool. Skeletons don't play very well with others.
LIGHT GRAY WOOL - This one was obvious to find and really easy to get. Vechs, I am disappoint.
CYAN WOOL - I got this wool before entering Home the Swarm. And I thought Silverfish were bad THEN.
PURPLE WOOL - This one was really difficult to get, and it was only halfway through the castle! Evil place...
BLUE WOOL - I just advanced slowly for this one. Reeeeally, reeeeally slowly. Hmph.
BROWN WOOL - YAY SANCTUARY YAY! PUMPKINS YAY! FLOWERS YAY! GRASS YAY! WOOD YAY! WOOL YAY! Random door into the wool room. Yay.
GREEN WOOL - This wool was such a pain to get to; I used gravel to make my way down, and would constantly have to retreat for more health. If I didn't know about the boat/minecart teleportation trick, I'd be royally screwed. Just the fact that that's mandatory now to complete the monument... it does not make me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
RED WOOL - THIS PLACE. THIS. F***ING. PLACE. I think the Jester Citadel made me 700% more paranoid. I did enjoy the troll stick chest as well as the messages on the signs around the wool room. NO WAIT DON'T TOUCH THA--
BLACK WOOL - I kind of assumed the wool on the floor would have traps under it, so I just got the wool from the chest back before harvesting it. I was actually disappointed to find out that it was perfectly safe and that Vechs just gave us a ton of Black Wool.
IRON BLOCK - Okay, I'm really glad I entered the Caves of Madness first, but the iron at the end of the Caves of Madness was really nice of you, Vechs. Almost too nice... And then I discovered the living hell that is Home the Swarm.
GOLD BLOCK - I saw that snow trap of yours. I'm aware of your tricks. Very, veeerrry tricksy...
DIAMOND BLOCK - I raided the throne room of the almighty King Vechs! Now that's an achievement to be proud of.

ok, i REALLY want to do a play through of all the maps on MULTIPLAYER, if anyone is willing to help me on this quest (no veterans allowed) I will be happy

I kill creepers to make TNT to kill more creepers, it's an ongoing process.
I'm a Tails fan, get over it
The more you put me through, the more it makes me want to come back to you.
You say you hate me, I just love you more.
You don't want me, I just want you more.
I think I have made good use of the water and lava sources in Nightmare Realm.
(If anyone is wondering, I'm playing through nightmare realm on 1.9 prerelease 2.)
I made a cobble generator, a wheat farm and I even tried making a fishing pool. (It doesn't work though. :sad.gif:)
Also Vechs, you may need to place fewer spawners, or give us no blaze rods ever. Why? Because we can aparently get pig spawners now because of
Silk Touch: Blocks mined (with the right tool) will drop themselves, even if it should drop something else (e.g stone drop stone, not cobblestone)
Allows the collection of normally unobtainable blocks such as Ores, Mycelium, Grass, Monster Spawners, Ice, Double Slabs, White Stone and Huge Mushrooms.

Yeah, but don't you need grass to spawn pigs? And also, by the time you can use enchantments, you've already found diamonds and should have also already found other food sources.

You just wasted -insert arbitrary number + measurement of time here- reading this.
Yeah, but don't you need grass to spawn pigs? And also, by the time you can use enchantments, you've already found diamonds and should have also already found other food sources.
Pigs are still a pretty good source of food, the only thing better then it would be cakes and mushroom soup, and I don't think those stack.
I believe the way passive mobs spawn has been changed. Naturally, they would spawn on the highest block as a chunk was loaded for the first time. I assume spawners would be able to spawn pigs without grass now because they no longer require grass, and once you get two pigs you pretty much have unlimited food. (Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I know that the way passive mobs spawn has been changed.)
I might be wrong though. :tongue.gif: I havn't bothered to test this yet though.
Because Zombie pigmen now drop gold nuggets, players can now get gold as soon as they get nether access. Because gold is pretty much useless anyway, this doesn't seem like too much of a problem, but I just want to see if this is legal.
EDIT: You should also hide all netherwart to prevent potions. I don't think enchanting is too big of a deal.
And I can just imagine a room with a lava floor full of blaze and raining cave spiders. I am scared. Very Very scared.
I am also suprised I haven't seen more pistons. I guess they are breakable, but it is quicker than tnt for making the floor disappear instantly and is less suspicious than gravel, at least for the first time.

Figured I'd toss this out there. It seems that using NBTEdit, you can stick the weapon enchants onto nonweapon items. So if a mapmaker like Vechz wanted to, he could actually make a sign an effective weapon by giving it Sharpness, and sticking it in a chest.
I think in most cases the final implementation of potions and enchanting are pretty balanced. You need diamonds to be able to enchant anything- by that point in the game not an issue, and you need Nether access to farm Netherwart, assuming Vechz even lets us have any. You can still make Splash Potions of Poison I and Weakness I without Netherwart, but those are hardly overpowered, especially since you lose the glass.
So I was playing Nightmare Realm, in Winter Wonderhell, and was exploring the top part when
I came upon a large flat area, and knowing Vechs' dirty trick with the fake snow block, poured my water on it. It crashed the game with a "Saving Chunks" screen, and when I reloaded the map, I found that my inventory was rolled back to before I placed the water, but the terrain still had the water source block.
No mods or anything on my game. Does this mean I get to keep the water? :tongue.gif:
