I played it, and its great. Keep up the good work. I really like the secrets. You should tone down the rewards though. Let me know if I can do anything to help, like testing/building
Hey sir, welcome to the forums! I would love if you could test, that would be awesome. As for the first one, try digging under where you spawned
Thank you! I have kinda watched them for awhile and finally decided to post. I played through all of what you have done and I thought it was great! I think you should do more with the first town you spawn in, but other then that its great. Let me know how I could help with testing.
I dont see whats bad about downloading the demo, but I understand. It is just to showcase what I have so far and what the game will be like.
So far there is:
A starting hut that you spawn in
A tutorial house
A small village
A small house
6 secrets
A random Chest
A chest hidden in a fountain
A random hidden chest
Not alot, maybe 10 minutes if you speed run it. I just wanted to get some early feedback, so if you dont download i understand
yeah my next task before I move on is to tone down rewards. BTW, i am working on a new version for testing, and have added Secret 7, the motherload (10 diamonds, other awesome stuff). Glad you like it
The tutorial left something to be desired however, since it was pretty much (imo) dig-through-dirt-go-through-door.
For someone who hasn't played Minecraft before, maybe something about crafting (you left some craft tables out for us with no explanation on how to use them) in the tutorial would be beneficial. Maybe a small explanation about how the tools work (shovels effective against dirt/gravel, picks against stone/coal) or even better yet, how to make them.
And oh, how I wish Notch could implement NPCs. That town was very nicely built, though the lack of any residents was sort of a letdown. Maybe you should have talking animals :tongue.gif:
I thought it was very cool, and a good way to start off your MineQuest. Oh, and I was quick to find that night came fairly quickly (after finding Secret #2, dying a few times, and completing the Tutorial) so maybe something about finding shelter before night falls would also help. I had to barricade the ladder entrance of the tutorial house and wait out the night.

Everyone hates it because everyone overdoes the joke. The joke is also insaneley old and not even funny anymore.
Fine so we will never say Creeper jokes or Chicken spy jokes ever again then.
Thanks for all the positive feedback!
About Mediafire: Yes, it seems to be turning into a bad site. For now I am going to use it, but am going to switch to dropbox soon.
@Avaric
Oh sorry, the tutorial was meant to be very basic and non-descriptive. I also assumed anyone who played this would have quite a bit of knowledge about minecraft. Sorry for that.

Oh, good to hear, dropbox won't blue screen me.
If only they would scan the links that they hurl onto your computer screen, although I think I outsmarted the pop-up.
ctrl, alt, delete, start task manager, end process.
Your computer intelligence is no match for my people intelligence, virus!

Awesome! :biggrin.gif: Thanks!
about the pressure pads, not going to add those, i have a better idea.
I download, it opens another window and when I try to close it, it says "Click okay to proceed."
Normal pop-ups don't do that.

I meant to say the first town you travel too. But, okay let me know when it is ready.
A creeper wandered in and blew up half the wall, so I couldn't see if it had a sign declaring it as a secret or not......
And if not, then it can easily become one.
*EDIT*
Am I the only person to find secret#2 thus far?
Wow, where is the dungeon exactly? i want to see it
I'll post a detailed picture guide on how to find it. (or just pull it up in minutor, and draw a path to it.
Which would you prefer?
and would you like a guide to the second relatively-easy-to-find-strangely-placed-by-the-level-generator dungeon as well?
Okay, (I also included the second strangely placed one, along with a general walkthrough of things I thought were interesting. Yep,all 45 pictures!)
From the start,
Exit and turn to the right (While facing the front, walk left).
Walk forward until clay is visible.
Properly align yourself
And then from said clay, walk in the opposite direction (The hilarious cactus beacon should be to the right.)
You should see the exact opposite side.
Be sure to look for the 11 square of water, and the cactus trio, if these aren't evident, you did something wrong.
(Better view of cacti)
Approach them, then turn to the left.
You should see this, excavate and enjoy.
