when running minecraft my food mod crashes with the error report :
goldencakemod/goldencake.png not found when i have that folder and file allready in the right place, thanks.
Ok i thought this meant I didn't have the picture for House Block 2 one of the blocks i've added but i did i even just deletd it to try to get the mod to work. But here's the modloader.txt
I don't know why it won't work. But here's exactly what i do:
1. I get a Fresh minecraft.jar
2.I delete metainf
3.I copy all my code from reobf\minecraft\reobf and paste that into my minecraft.jar
4.I paste in modloader into my minecraft.jar
5.Test to see if it works (We all know that the test failed)
But in my .minecraft folder 2 new folders get created when i run my mod. config folder and mods folder i've downloaded mods before and never gotten those folder before.

The error report says you are missing an image file, "HouseBlock2.png". Is the image file spelled correctly? Is it in the proper directory?

Um that was a block in the making so i deleted that and the item that helped make it. But um I just saw a reobfuscation video from AKAHenry and got a question from that.When you reobfuscate do all of your images appear in the reobfuscation folder? Cause mine didn't. I was scared that i didn't put the images in the right place so i put all the images in Eclips\Client\Bin and Bin\Minecraft\ was that bad which place do i put my images in Eclipse folder or Bin folder. And are you supposed to also reobfuscate the images too?

Oh and also i just noticed my MD5 apparently has updates but i read it and it said:
Warning:The updatemd5 script is unsupported and should be run in special cases, such as if there were compile errors in the last decompile which have now been correected. It will reset the changed status of all classes for reobfuscation, and only classes modified afterwards will end up in the reobf directory.Only use this script if you absolutely know what you are doing, or when a MCP team member asks you to do so.
As you can see i don't know what i'm doing so I didn't update but if you think i should than i will.
Is this the problem? If not where are you supposed to put your images.

I would advise against using the update MD5 script, unless you backup all of your modified .java files elsewhere first. Any .java files you have created/modified will not reobfuscate after you run the update.
After you reobfuscate the created/modified java files, you should then drag them into your minecraft.jar. That is also where your images go. If, in your code, an image was "/example.png", you would drag that file directly into minecraft.jar. However, if your images are contained within another folder, and the folder is referenced by your code, "/examplefolder/example.png" you have to drag that folder in, instead of just the image file.
When i try to add my own custom item into a recipe, it tells me that it cannot be resolved or is not a field.
Here's my Mod_block:
package net.minecraft.src;
public class mod_Block extends BaseMod
{
public static final Block Smelter = new BlockSmelter (160, 0).setBlockName("Smelter").setHardness(3F).setResistance(4F).setLightValue(1F);
public void load()
{
Smelter.blockIndexInTexture = ModLoader.addOverride("/terrain.png", "/pathtoyourfile/image.png");
ModLoader.registerBlock(Smelter);
ModLoader.addName(Smelter, "Smelter");
ModLoader.addRecipe(new ItemStack(Smelter, 1), new Object [] {" I ","IFI"," I ",
Character.valueOf('F'), Block.Furnace, Character.valueOf('I'), Item.ingotIron});
}
public static final Block Steelblock = new BlockSteelblock(160, 0).setBlockName("Steelblock").setHardness(3F).setResistance(4F).setLightValue(1F);
{
Steelblock.blockIndexInTexture = ModLoader.addOverride("/terrain.png", "/pathtoyourfile/image.png");
ModLoader.registerBlock(Steelblock);
ModLoader.addName(Steelblock, "Smelter");
ModLoader.addRecipe(new ItemStack(Steelblock, 1), new Object [] {"SSS", "SSS", "SSS",
Character.valueOf('S'), Item.Steelingot});
}
public String getVersion()
{
return "1.2.5";
}
}
Here's my Mod_item:
package net.minecraft.src;
public class mod_Item extends BaseMod
{
public static final Item Steelingot = new Item(5000).setItemName("Steelingot");
public void load()
{
Steelingot.iconIndex = ModLoader.addOverride("/gui/items.png", "/pathtoyourfile/image.png");
ModLoader.addName(Steelingot, "Steel Ingot");
ModLoader.addSmelting(Coalinfusediron.shiftedIndex, new ItemStack(Steelingot, 1));
}
public static final Item Coalinfusediron = new Item(3989).setItemName("CoalInfusediron");
{
Coalinfusediron.iconIndex = ModLoader.addOverride("/gui/items.png", "/pathtoyourfile/image.png");
ModLoader.addName(Coalinfusediron, "Coal Infused Iron");
ModLoader.addRecipe(new ItemStack(Coalinfusediron, 1), new Object [] {"CI ", " ", " ",
Character.valueOf('C'), Item.coal, Character.valueOf('I'), Item.ingotIron});
}
public String getVersion()
{
return "1.2.5";
}
}
What can i do to fix this?
The problem is that you are trying to reference some of your items in the Item file. SteelIngot is not located in the item file, it is in the mod_Item file. Your code should be like this: "mod_Item.IngotSteel" instead of this: "Item.IngotSteel". The word before the block/item you are referencing is the name of the file in which said block/item is declared. Remember this. In the future, please post your actual errors as well, for that makes it easier for us to quickly find the problem. Also, use Eclipse, because it will tell you your errors as you type; makes the process go much quicker.

Well, it is obviously not in the right place. Check your code, check your spelling. It would also help if you posted your code, as well as telling us the path to your image file.
hello, when i add a mob it seems to float? im not sure if its an error in codding or its how the model was made but heres my model code:

NVM I GOT IT TO WORK!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!! omg this felt like i was just begginning playing minecrfat all over again!
Thanks so much! Your epic thanks!
for some reason i'm getting errors of the foods names. I put all the foods names uppercase like PepperoniPizza.png but one by one the
modloader.txt is saying to make it lower case like pepperonipizza. Does it have to be lowercase cause i coded in Eclipse that it should all be uppercase.
I don't want to change one by one so tell me do i have to have all the names of my pictures lowercase.
Also could you direct me to a reobfuscation tutorial for windows?
go into the "docs" folder in your your MCP folder, and read the file named mcp. It has all the information you need to reobfuscate, decompile, test, and everything else you can do with mcp.

I am using eclipse it didn't show anything other then red underlined text and when i moused over it it didn't say anything it was a blank box. On Block.furnace it says that its not a field. should i add it to the block.java file? if so what would i use a constant or a field, and what would the code look like?
EDIT: never mind the furnace is stored as a different name in the Block file.

Please use the code tags, if not the spoiler tags too. It makes your code so much easier to read.
ok thank you i fixed it , but i have a different question: when i use the custom NPC code as reference, my mob doesnt seem to walk? is that included in the tutorial? Or no? If not may someone plz tell me how to add custom animations such as walking for custom NPCs?
Thanks a bunch!
you hit the little picture icon above the text-feild and copy/paste the image url from hte website you uploaded it to (AKA: photobucket)
Then Walah! you added an image to a post!
I've been trying to make a new bomb-like block in my mod, and i have a problem with it......
package net.minecraft.src;
public class BlockM1n3cra4tBomb extends Block
{
public BlockM1n3cra4tBomb(int i, int j)
{
super(i, j, Material.tnt);
}
public void onBlockDestroyedByPlayer(World world, int i, int j, int k, int l)
{
world.createExplosion(null, i, j, k, 10F);
}
public void onBlockDestroyedByExplosion(World world, int i, int j, int k, int l)
{
world.createExplosion(null, i, j, k, 10F);
}
}
I wanted to make my block explode when it is destroyed by explosion, but it just drops!
How do I make it explode by an explosion?
Also are the flowers supposed to spawn?
If not can we put this code into the flower to make it spawn:
public void generateSurface(World world, Random rand, int chunkX, int chunkZ)
{
for (int i = 0; i < 37; i++)
{
int randPosX = chunkX + rand.nextInt(5);
int randPosY = rand.nextInt(80);
int randPosZ = chunkZ + rand.nextInt(5);
(new WorldGenMinable(mod_ManaOre.ManaOre.blockID, 17)).generate(world, rand, randPosX, randPosY, randPosZ);
}
}
With an If statement saying find grass to spawn on?
goldencakemod/goldencake.png not found when i have that folder and file allready in the right place, thanks.

Thanks!
And are you supposed to also reobfuscate the images too?
thanks for your help!
Your images do not reobfuscate, just your code.
I hope this helps.
Here's my Mod_block:
Here's my Mod_item:
Please use the code tags, if not the spoiler tags too. It makes your code so much easier to read.
Please post your code. Chances are, you just have a typo, and nothing serious. However, we can't help you unless we can see your code.
NVM I GOT IT TO WORK!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!! omg this felt like i was just begginning playing minecrfat all over again!
Thanks so much! Your epic thanks!
go into the "docs" folder in your your MCP folder, and read the file named mcp.
EDIT: never mind the furnace is stored as a different name in the Block file.
ok thank you i fixed it , but i have a different question: when i use the custom NPC code as reference, my mob doesnt seem to walk? is that included in the tutorial? Or no? If not may someone plz tell me how to add custom animations such as walking for custom NPCs?
Thanks a bunch!
Then Walah! you added an image to a post!
How do I make it explode by an explosion?
Here's the link to the post:http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1143092-extra-food-mod/page__hl__food+mod__fromsearch__1
If that didn't work try typing in: Extra Food Mod or Food Mod
Also are the flowers supposed to spawn?
If not can we put this code into the flower to make it spawn:
With an If statement saying find grass to spawn on?
Oh! Lol. I was asking a question sorry!
