I'm running 1.2.5 and have my base in a stronghold. I found 2 dungeons near each other in the same area as the jail cell part of the structure. I cleaned it up and added small redstone things, and placed torches so that the light level would be 8 or above anywhere outside the "spawning room" (the cells) and a Creeper spawned, and blew me to hell. WTF is going on here????

Any help is appreciated, because I put a lot of work into my bases, and can't stand monsters blowing it up all the time. Hell, if you want, look at the world if u want to. And I apologize if this is in the wrong section, had no idea where this kind of thing should go, and this place looked close.
Creeper spawners are rare, yes, but it is a legit spawner. And i checked at my feet by digging down one. I've been playing since beta 1.4 so I've got about everything down in Minecraft. I might try moving the door walls up one to where the edge is now.
For example, Overworld monsters can only spawn in darkness (light level 7 or below), and animals must spawn on top of grass with a light level 9 or above.
And you couldn't have the common decency to make a zip of the world files?
Well, they're spawning from the mob spawner at a light level of EIGHT, and for some reason, my dropbox doesn't like .zip files. I apologize for that. If it helps, I'm at y: 17 because I live in a stronghold.

EDIT: Just had a creeper spawn in light level 8 again, even after moving the wall. Can someone PLEASE tell me what the heck is going on here?
EDIT 2: Now I have FIVE CREEPERS in the hall, spawning at light level 8. Now it's just weird....

Couldn't get them to glitch through.... but the area is correctly lit.
