Hi. I seem to be having this problem alot now. My minecraft stops saying it ran out of memory. I have Java 7 and 6 installed for my windows XP 32-bit. I installed the x86 version of java because that is the only version for my pc. I have tried starting minecraft with more memory by first, creating a .bat file(several different version. If i try to open it, I just see the black cmd box for barely a second, and then it closes and nothing happens. I have also tried going to Java, through the control panel, and changing the Runtime Environment or something like that. I have also installed and uninstalled many time. Any help? Thanks :biggrin.gif:.

As the last command of your BAT file put in PAUSE on a line by itself.
This will cause the CMD function to pause and wait for you to hit any key. This will give you chance to read any error messages. Mine are usually that I had a directory string spelled wrong.

WTH is "mwynwyr" ... you ask?
Well it is Welsh for miner. Don't even ask how to pronounce it LOL.

OK i did that and this is the error i'm getting.
javaw is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable by a program or batch file.
If you are getting that error, it means that eitherJava is not installed, or is not in your path.
If Java is not installed, go to http://www.java.com to install the most recent version of the JRE.
If you're sure you have already installed Java ensure the Java executable is in your system's path. You can do this by first finding the directory it is installed in. For example, mine is installed in C:\Program Files\Java\jre6. The executables are located in the bin directory.
In order to set your path (Assuming Windows Vista), go to Start -> Control Panel -> System, then click on the 'Advanced System Settings' link on the left, then the 'Environment Variables' button. In the lower section (Labeled 'System Variables'), scroll through and find the item labeled 'Path' and double click it. In the field labeled 'Variable value' go to the end and add a semicolon (:wink.gif:, and then the path your installation of Java is located. Using the example I gave above, I would have added ;C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin to the end of the line.

Here is the .bat's file code
javaw -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar "minecraft.exe"
PAUSE
Try it with java instead of javaw
