I would like to make a videogame and use UDK to make it, and since I cant afford a licesne agreement. Ill post up a demo of it before i buy the agreement. And I dont want to post my videogame on steam because i cost money so is there a popular or diffrent program equivalent to steam I can post my game on for free. And also I havent even started on my game, just kind of brain storming getting rid and placing in ideas but have the main layout and I got UDK and it lags SO bad and I know nothing about it. So does anyone know how i can stop it from lagging or something because I really want to try out my game but I dont want it to lag and how do i figure out the system requirements needed for the game? SO MANY QUESTIONS! Lol but I really hope someone can help!
Should go with something like Unity imo. UDK is very overkill unless you have goals and plans to actually make a really high definition game, of which I really doubt you are.
If you can't even run it well on your computer you certainly won't be able to code to optimize it.
Of course if you want me to be totally realistic unless you are a seasoned programmer I really think you should take a step back and work on a smaller project than just trying to throw a video game out there.

yea thx, its just i want to become a videogame designer so bad when i grow up so im trying to challenge myself, and learn new stuff and new programs. I should do something smaller you are right. I just have a few questions to ask
1. Is there a free program out there to use
2. will it not lag as much, i have 8 GB RAM and 3839 MB Graphics memory I have Windows Vista HP Pavillion P6130y PC and im not sure what else to put, oh yea and 223 GB free of internal hard drive space
3. How small of a game?
4. Easy to use program as well
and thats pretty much it, and thx

I dunno, it's arguably hard to just be a "designer" most designers have some other actual game developing skill. I couldn't recommend anything besides like Game Maker without you having some manner of programming skill. Could try game maker I guess, it's not too bad.
