So let me get this straight: You broke a rule and clearly insulted the other party and are angry about it? The topic was not what you were infracted before but rather the insults you decided to throw into it while responding to the other party.
Do not:
Flame or Provoke
Do not insult or flame other members of the forum. Similarly, do not post with the intention of provoking a reaction from fellow members. This includes encouraging flame wars. Instigation is not tolerated.
Stupid being the only one i threw. Thats very minor. The point of this is about how things are handled on the forums and Im not alone on this one. So how do you differ insults on posts? Soo many things can be determined as insults. So will he be getting infractions as well for insulting me which is the truth.
Stupid wasn't the only insult in that post unless calling someone an idiot doesn't count as an insult. You broke a rule, you got infracted. It is clearly within your power to hold a conversation or debate without insulting someone.

Fair enough, I do remember saying Idiot but yes stupid and idiot are the same thing, different words. Why is it though im not calling you stupid? Could It be that you havent insulted me? Thing is you put insulting others as a rule and yet its something impossible to maintain. I find it odd that rule is in there. Maybe keep insulting to a low. But just no insulting isnt going to happen. Im suprised you guys let discrimination get away on here. I found this before and I saw it insulting and very discriminating. I was going to get to this earlier about how such impossible things are being struck on when soo minor and yet big things that can be seen as illegal in real life are not dealt with on here. The general question of "Are you autistic" should be a big discrimination violation and Im willing to push for a huge rule on that. If im gonna get knocked on for something minor such as calling someone stupid then hell i want the people saying this offensive and discriminating material to be hit harder for such a worse crime. I will accept my punishment as valid and something i deserve only if people who do this take responsibility as well. Its only fair to punish those who do greater crimes when you punish the lesser ones. But ive always been thinking about writting a story about all this and trying to get it viewed by the news to get it public. "Discrimination against Autism". Im sure coming from someone who has both Autism and Asbergers, it would make a great story for them.

Granted, but it is HIDEOUSLY expensive, and makes you very slow when wearing it, and unable to fight back.
I wish William and Kate's baby is healthy. Now they've sorted out the male/female thing, and the catholic thing, I'd hate for them to have to deal with an Autistic firstborn, or some other thing not yet thought of. At any rate, nobody wants a sick baby. Sorry if you think it's a stupid wish.
If you find other posts that are against the rules please report them. The mods cannot possibly oversee every post and every thread made on the forum, so we need the users to help us out, given how large the forum is and how many posts are made per hour.
The mods are not discriminating or doing things how they see fit, if you suspect a mod is doing so, invite the sectional admin to the warn PM you received and explain yourself, if what you are saying is true and has merit, the admins have no problem whatsoever firing staff members for this kind of behavior. It certainly would not be the first time such a thing has happened. We are lectured on this VERY STRICTLY when we join the team.

As someone with both, I think you just need to stop taking arguments/posts on the internet so seriously.
Don't use the disability as a crutch, it makes the rest of us look bad and I honestly feel a bit insulted you are trying to use it that way.
A note on that as well, people with said mental disabilities do not typically go parading around the fact that they have it. Food for thought.
Right now i really wanna call you an idiot, this time not because of opinion but because of how you just pulled nothing out of thin air and made up such lies about me. But im not going to call you an idiot. So where did i show anything about me using a disorder as an excuse or a crutch? And since when is mentioning once about having such a disorder parading about it? Am I not permitted to mention such a thing? Just please feel free to burn in hell at any given time. No rush, I have all day.
Then why mention it? It already sounds like you WANT to provoke a retired staff member, who I will remind is one of the many few who was able to become a moderator. You should respect everyone. Every if they are being "meanie heads".
The irony of this statement, and the complaint you made in the OP/this thread is hilarious many times over.
Im smarter than I look. The OP was just bait so I could get peoples attention, which has worked. So If I reported you right now for flaming, which I would say what you did was trolling/flaming what would happen to you? Of course in a way i did it right back but im prepared for that punishment. So please tell me what section of the rules that would be under. Insults or Flaming/Trolling. Im not sure myself as to which one it would fall under.
Insults or Flaming/Trolling. Im not sure myself as to which one it would fall under.
Troll
Trolling of any kind is not tolerated. Accusing someone of trolling, which is known as "Troll Calling" is also disallowed, eg: "Stop trolling", "You're a troll!". If someone is trolling they should be reported. Flame or Provoke
Do not insult or flame other members of the forum. Similarly, do not post with the intention of provoking a reaction from fellow members. This includes encouraging flame wars. Instigation is not tolerated.
Read it yourself please. I think you should be able to decide
So may i report this person for insults and/or flaming/trolling? You and I both know he just made up a bunch of lies to get to me. And now reffering back to my old post, I didnt actually call the guy stupid or an idiot until he insulted me. Now its the same scenario with someone who basically insulted me when i mention once that i have autism/asbergers. I can consider this discrimination as well as if im not allowed to say what i am. I like being on the internet because i dont have to worry about my disorder and no one has to know. But the one time i tell someone i have it and tell them my thoughts of helping other people out, i get insulted and crap. So yes, I believe his post to be in violation of Insulting, Flaming, and Discrimination. As for my post after, yes i did post because it ed me off but i will accept responsibility for that.
I have submitted a report and I am not responding to anymore of his posts from this point due to the post he made. I would like your oppinion as to where this topic is going with my point of more pushing against people who break the discrimination rule and such. Im not sure the staff have any rule against it but I would like phrases such as "Are you Autistic?" to be catagorized as discrimination, Trolling/Flaming, or even Insults.

Nothing I has said is trolling, flaming or anything of the sort. However, what you have said is pretty covered under that quite clearly by telling me to 'go burn in hell'.

This is not discrimination.
We have gone over this.
Everyone follows the same rules.
You broke the rules and got an infraction. Just like everyone else who would have posted the same thing. You even broke the rules again in this thread by telling me to go burn in hell for no reason.
"Are you autistic" would be considered trolling or flamebaiting, we do not need a new "discrimination" rule because there is no discrimination, it's just plain old flamebaiting or trolling.
Again, if you see posts like this report them. The mods cannot possibly oversee the entire forum every second of every day.

Last post just to prove a point to those who dont understand discrimination. If i changed what you said "Are you Autistic" and made it "Are you Black" Would that be racism? How about this.

Let me change this to "I'd hate for them to have to deal with a Black firstborn. At any rate, nobody wants a black baby." Now is this racism? Racism is discrimination against a race. Someone saying this about an autistic person is discrimination against people on the autism spectrum. So by saying "are you autistic" it would be an insult against that person because in reality they are saying autistic people are bad and no one wants to be autistic, which is discrimination.
So by saying "are you autistic" it would be an insult against that person because in reality they are saying autistic people are bad and no one wants to be autistic, which is discrimination.
What if you seriously asking someone if they were autistic?
What if you seriously asking someone if they were autistic?
I understand what you say there but there is a difference between "Hey was wondering if you have autism" and "are you autistic?" But in a way its like asking if someone is mexican or black on here. You dont have a reason to do it on the internet. I mean if someone wants to legitly ask another if they are autistic due to how smart they are or something then fine, but i dont see how you would just suddenly have a hunch someone is autistic unless you think they are "stupid or retarded" which is not true about us. My point for this one is that no one has a reason to ask that question.
Last post just to prove a point to those who dont understand discrimination. If i changed what you said "Are you Autistic" and made it "Are you Black" Would that be racism? How about this.
No, it would still be flamebaiting/trolling.
However it would be racist which is not the same thing as racism.
This entire thread keeps going but the situation is the same. All you are doing is trying to come up with excuses to justify yourself in breaking the rules, which you did (Seemingly) break.
It does not matter.
You broke the rules.
You got an infraction just like everyone else who breaks the rules.
There is no problem here.
If you have a problem with it, reply to your warn pm and invite the sectional administrator.
If you see a post that is flamebaiting/trolling/flaming, do not respond to it. Ignore it and report the post.
Responding with "you are an idiot" or any other manner of insult it does not matter if they insulted you first. You both broke the rules at that point. There is no "he said she said" here, it's all one set of rules. You break the rule, you get an infraction. That's how it's always been.
This is not difficult, but you are making it exceedingly so.
Reading through this thread I'm amazed at how the conversation has turned.
The OP starts of basically with this thread wanting a separation based on age groups. (basically Kids and Adult). Legally no site is supposed to willingly and knowingly collect date from persons under the age of 13 due to child protection laws.
Wait a moment! If that is true why are "children" on these forums and why do we cater to a younger audience?
There's several answers to that.
1. Proving AGE is entirely difficult.
2. Families browse this forum together.
3. Minecraft is a game for all ages, it is not rated 18+ or AO. It's rated E10+
Going back to proving age, kids are smart these days. Everyone pretty much grows up with a computer anymore, and a lot of parents right now did not grow up with computers themselves. Generally, you see the children of the family will know how to run the computer better then their parents. (This isn't always the case but very likely)
When it comes to signing up for the forums. There is a disclaimer that users have to be 13+, but there is no way of verifying it. Since the Minecraft forums does not require you to sign up with a credit card, there is no 100% way to validate age while signing up.
Going along with what I said about Families... the rule for profanity was not to cater to children. It was to cater to adults (parents) who browse the forum with their child/children.
Now...why should these families be turned away just because a few people feel the "need" to swear. They shouldn't, and swearing isn't a basic human need. If people needed to swear, we'd all probably die before we could even form syllables to even speak ourselves.
The argument for the Profanity rule has been beaten to death though since it was implemented, so I will move on from that.
The second portion of this thread basically delves to the OP's "flaming" infraction was minor compared to the allowed "discrimination".
Discrimination isn't allowed, and no one can use it to insult another person on this forum.
Do we have a specific infraction / warning for it?
No.
Why?
We have a few basic other warnings to cover them.
Hate Speach
Flaming / Insulting
Flamebaiting
Trolling
Troll Calling
Any form of discrimination can be applied to any of these five categories.
We'll start with context. The example you gave above using "are you autistic" is entirely too vague to even make a judgement call.
Generally, the tone of a conversation can't be easily picked up. This is including sarcasm. Sarcasm is entirely invisible on the internet. Actual sarcasm is a verbal tone, and since we are reading instead of speaking, sarcastically calling someone autistic, and literally calling them autistic is considered the same thing.
Another point I saw was this:
"Is it an insult if the person really is stupid?"
Absolutely!
Who are you, or anyone for that matter, to judge someone's intellect. Last I checked no one is required to take an IQ test before joining the forum, and what one person finds "stupid" depends from person to person. There is no level of intelligence that deems someone "stupid". It is a perception of people.
My sister is mentally handicapped. Her personality and behavior is that of a child of around 8 years old. She was in reality 38 years old, and by far not "stupid". There are things she could do that I could never do.
Stupidity is a perception of people we place upon others. It goes the same for what one person would deem normal or weird compared to the next.
No, it would still be flamebaiting/trolling.
However it would be racist which is not the same thing as racism.
Racist: A person with a prejudiced belief that one race is superior to others
Racism: Prejudice or discrimination directed against someone of a different race based on such a belief
Again you are confused by whats going on. I used racism as an example because racism is discrimination. Now what you are confused about now is about this topic. No it is not about how i broke the rules. I could care less if i got an infraction on these forums. Doesnt make a difference to me. Im still doing fine here. You dont see the real situation of this topic. But as for an end to this discussion, one of the moderators understanding my point would make me happy.
