LOL, I think the Mods should just let us leave this one topic open and rename it "Be Free." It would let us all that just want to have a little fun have some chats and ask questions. Of course it should still be moderated for obscene comments etc to keep it clean. I don't see how that would hurt anything and would really help in preventing clutter on the main board. Plus all the meanies "you know who you are" can't come in and say a word that we can't post that question because it was asked 57 days ago.
That's why BiggRob was talking about having a myths/urban legend section, because there is no proof. Just fun and interesting stories and you decide for yourself if it is real or not.
I will say I think the Mods do go a little crazy sometimes with deleting topics or marking them as redundancy, but I also know that people on here crossed the line with the amount of "when is 1.8.2 coming out" topics. Its like the old saying that one person can ruin it for everyone (of course it was more than one person, way more than one person)
The reason they are getting deleted/locked is because they are breaking the rules. Exactly the same as this one.
There are no "wannabe" mods.
We simply are following rules and helping keep clean of these forums. You may start a rebellion if you wish, but this is not a country, it's more like a job, you do what you are supposed to, or you get punished for it. Simple as that. If you are annoyed by people like me, then don't break the rules, simple as that. Using correct grammar also helps. (EX; Adding periods to ends of sentences)
If you are complaining, go to another forum, no one is forcing you to be on this one.

So ,because we follow rules makes us "meanies"? If you want a topic like you said (dis including the meanie part) Post this in the off topic section. Simple as that!
Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.

No it has nothing to do with following the rules, I appreciate the fact that you follow the rules. But the way you chastise everybody for breaking a so called rule is being mean. I for one don't want you as a moderator because the current moderators we have are nice and sincere. You are the complete opposite so you will not get my vote and I think your approach to these rule breakers are very unprofessional so if you are trying to impress the mods for the job in my opinion you are not doing very well. Take a business 101 class before you try to become a professional so you can learn how to be professional.

What makes you think that if I don't break the rules I still wouldn't be annoyed with you? I find your constant corrections and reporting of posts to be quite annoying.

Scrote, you are becoming one of my favs on this site. I am glad i am not the only one that notices this.

Looky there, this topic was moved. Now you guys can continue. I dismiss myself and wish a happily flamecon to this topic. Goodluck with a "rebellion" that is impossible. Seriously.
Unless you can prove I reported (Most topics that break rules I do, but there are some I simply say what rule they break and do not file a report) then your argument is invalid.

The staff does not go around locking and hiding threads for no reason. If a thread is hidden or locked then it's because they believe they are in violation of the forum rules. Moderators are people though and are not above making mistakes. If you believe that a thread has been locked or hidden in error please by all means contact a Moderator or Admin and ask them to explain the action.
We are never to busy to discuss an action that has been taken, and if a mistake has been made, correct it.
With regard to Herobrine threads. It is pretty plainly stated in the rules that these threads are not allowed. If you chose to believe that he is real that is your call. However it's well documented that the whole thing was a joke and any sightings are mistakes.

Ugh I accidentally gave Snyder a rep point and can't delete it...I am so ashamed. cmpenny, I think this thread has devolved into a complaint thread about the wanna be mods who think they know everything and feel the need to troll the forum and report every thread they can, and not the actual mods. They really need to be discouraged from reporting everything, unless it is truly offensive, and let the actual mods say what is and what is not allowed.

Taking someones rights away because we're different is against the constitution and is just plain wrong. I doubt moderators will follow what you suggested here.

The constitution does not apply to this website.
@Scrote You do not need to be concerned about "wanna-be moderators" who report anything they dislike, because even though they make reports, it's the actual moderators who still review the content and decide themselves whether they should take action or not.

Minecraft has a constitution now? I guess I had better find it so I may memorize it to the word so as not to get reported.

I don't think your rights will be taken away, you can keep reporting posts all you want and keep being THAT guy. But the Mods were hired to do a job so they should be the ones doing what they were hired to do and not having someone like you trying to be something your not.

Actually we really really really like it when people report stuff that they think is against the rules. If it's not against the rules, we can dismiss it. If it is, then fantastic! We don't see every single thing that happens on this site ever, so we love it when users notify us of something that we might have missed.

Theevilpplz is so fabulous, hetrosexual men turn bi when he passes by.
There is nothing wrong with users reporting threads. Most users are in fact very helpful in this regard. Just because they are reported doesn't mean that the staff is going to act to infract anyone. Moderators are trained to understand the rules and make the final judgement call as to what should be done if anything. As I stated if you don't agree with a moderator's call then please feel free to contact the moderator or admin and ask for an explanation.

Only a few were hired actually. Most do not get paid and are volunteers. This is why age doesn't matter.
PS. I realize the constitution does not apply to this site, I was using it as an example (: Sorry for not stating that. -wink-

I see 2 sides of this in perspective of me;
1) I am glad to help the mods
2) Not sure how I feel about people hating on me. But, I will continue to help(:
