Site Admins, citricsquid and PuyoDead, get paid.
Sacheverell also gets paid, and I think Dook might get paid to, I could be wrong.
Forum Admins, such as Piratebay, Beltir, and DanielleStarr, are volunteers.

Theevilpplz is so fabulous, hetrosexual men turn bi when he passes by.
be patient. you have to remember that only because they are admins doesn't mean the moderator selection is all they do all day. They have jobs and lives outside of this site. I know the wait sucks though. i've been there bro.
I know this, as I have been in those shoes, this site does need a HR person, whose sole responsibilities would be to answer and help narrow choices down, then meet with admin, choose best choice, then be responsible for training the new mod. this would allow the admins to focus on other more needed items.

Well, don't most of the moderators help out with questions and such?
Off topic: Why have a minecraft forums account when you only play the XBOX version?

Or do you play both?
Even if he only plays the Xbox version, there's still a board strictly for it. There's no reason to think that a forum account is only useful for PC players Take myself for example: I own it on the PC, but can't play it anymore due to my lackluster laptop.
To address concerns of the process taking a while: I can understand both sides of the story. The old method was much more drawn out, and admins can't be on at all times reading through applications. However, we've heard very little these last few days. Are there still admins on the prowl for mods? As mentioned by citricsquid earlier in the thread, it was safe to assume that after a week you can assume that you've not been picked, and that not all applicants would be replied to. I suppose this could have been a pre-mature statement, as it would seem that they got many more applications than bargained for.
EDIT: I think it also bears mentioning that a certain level of anxiety/eagerness is completely normal. It doesn't make someone "lusty for power". It's entirely possible that they are genuinely eager to play a helpful role on the forums that they love. I don't think it's right for members to come into the thread raining on those people's parades just because they're a bit excited.
Mine's still pending. I don't even think I'll get accepted, but I still hope I do. I applied on the same day this thread was made, so it's been at least a week. I've still got hope.

Same here. It has been 9 days for me.

It used to take like 4 months. I'm not sure how long it takes now, I've seen people get accepted within a week.
For me, its been pending since the 23rd. It is different for everybody.
It shouldn't take to long. But remember, their is 8 Admins and a lot of applications. It will take time for the Admins to check through all of them. Just be patient.

As long as they're still going through them, I think everyone will be happy and can rest easy

That's understandable. I was answering that guys question by the way, in no way was I complaining.

seems a little excessive.

took me about 8 days.
Same here. It has been 9 days for me.
Or do you need to wait for it to be denied/approved?
Just wait, something will happen eventually. At least with this system you know if it's been denied.
... when the status changes to denied.
you will get an IM saying so
