I love this community, everybody is nice and welcoming. But the layout is rubbish and the server is rubbish.
Half the time I can't get onto this because "Curse Network" is down, as usual. Then I can't use the text editor at all. Making my posts look stupid. It doesn't work, none of this forum works, I can barely go from one page to the other without getting an error.
1. the not available network thing can be fixed by clicking refresh
2. if u cant use the text editor ur computer must suck
3. some pages are there but they are down so it will give u an error
Notice the only people are complaining are Tree Punchers and lower level forum members, all of the "veterans" seem to have less problems than the youngens do

I've been on this forum a long time, I made a new account to correspond with my youtube account, making it easier for me to be identified.

What levels count as veteran? xP
Anyways, I always get the "Servers temporarily at capacity" error, even more so in the past 2 days. But otherwise, I love this forum.
We understand downtime is frustrating and we're constantly working on improving it. This is one of the largest forums on the internet and the largest IPB 3.1 forum, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what IPB can do.
In short, the IPB forum software wasn't really designed for a community this size and as such MCF runs into issues that no other IPB forum does. The server capacity and 502 errors mearly mean that the backend servers are getting too much traffic at that moment (aka a lot of traffic on the forum). Curse is constantly updating the servers and such errors should hopefully diminsh when we move to IPB 3.2 (a lot of performance tweaks and fixes are implemented, both by IPS and Curse).
There really isn't much to discuss at the moment - you guys are having trouble with the forums (connectivity issues on our end), and IT is aware of those issues. They work tirelessly to iron out these problems as they emerge, and very much want the forums to run as well (or better) than they ever have, same as you guys do. :smile.gif:
Approaching this from a purely business-oriented perspective for a moment; it makes zero sense for us to neglect these forums. It would be akin to an airline willfully not replacing faulty parts on airplanes, even knowing that failure to do so will result in crashes. It's silly to even imply that such a thing is willfully considered.
It is just as frustrating for us as it is for you when the forums aren't doing what they're supposed to. Updates and upgrades are constantly on the way, and we will, in every possible capacity, endeavor to keep these forums in top form. :happy.gif:
I understand that it is a large forum but still, there is amazing technology out in the world so there must be something better to support a forum of this capacity.
ALSO: I use other curse forums and they work fine for me, E.G Terraria Online, but why this one not work when Terraria is just as big.

Sorry to be rude but seriously?

But the text editors work, but they don't let me access the buttons up the top.
900th post!

TerrariaOnline has over a million registered forum members and 6 million page views per day? :blink.gif:
Venit, quessit, induravit.
Terraria online isn't as big. They have 88,054 members, we have 1,116,050.
