What the title says. I've gone to my control panel several times over the last two years, and nothing has changed in that time. It's very confusing, possibly buggy, and makes no effort to make it possible to get notifications but not email notifications.
"oh but u can go there and u untick the box that says-"
No, shut up. That's not what I'm having a problem with here. The problem is that I want to have notifications showing up in the bell icon ONLY, but no matter what I do, no matter where I navigate to, I get the same two options (per-notification type):
A: I get no notifications for reply comments at all, and no emails about them.
B: It's either that or I get BOTH.
I don't want neither or both. I want specifically to have notifications when I log into Minecraft Forums dot freaking net, and not a single breath of this site when I log into Gmail. It's not hard, in fact it's really simple. I'll be smashing my head in with a hammer if you think I mean what I don't mean right now. I've tried the unsubscribe link in those emails, but that just reverts me back to option A.
I don't know if it's just me who's having the problem here, but if it is me, that's just additionally frustrating, because it means that everybody else has got a winning bell icon and a clear email inbox, and I'm stuck here being appropriated by a weirdly specific bug that hypothetically nobody knows how to fix. It's a lose-lose situation for me until this gets patched. I've checked that page of settings over and over again, and practically scoured it, so this is an issue, and I know I'm not wrong in saying that - at the very least - there's a design feature that I straight up don't agree with and one that doesn't suit the needs of people with standards when it comes to website engineering.

So I was working on this really cool resource pack a while ago, but bad progress nonwithstanding, I think I found something much better... I'm probably gonna never release another custom Minecraft map.Until we meet again...
You can disable almost all email notifications by turning on "Send email notifications as a daily digest instead of immediately" then select one day of the week in "Email Delivery Options". Private Message notifications are only sent via email, so to turn those emails off uncheck "New private messages to you". After this you'll receive one "What's been happening at Minecraft Forum" email per week but continue to receive on-forum notifications. This isn't ideal, we should have much more flexible notification options, fortunately I believe it is on our development teams radar but I can't promise anything.

I've not played with the settings much because the daily summaries don't annoy me much (long habit of binning 90% of what's in my inbox anyway)...
It does appear that I am also effected by this (and I agree that it would be preferable to have the oprion to get notifications only on site).
Adding an option:
directly above
would be an improvement to the site interface [IMO]
[It might even prove cheaper as less bandwidth would be used. ]
