I don't want to sound whiny here, but I feel like there are some other users that I see who joined/started being active roughly the same time as me, but they have already reached 1,000 posts. It's not like I'm that inactive - I go on the forums almost every day, much more than I feel like I should. I feel like I'm just as active, but I'm still only in the 400's. I think it might just be because I look at a lot of threads but I don't reply to them all of the time.

I'm on a bit of a hiatus from playing Minecraft, so I'm not so active in this forum, either. I still check it though, and participate in a few discussions.
Although don't feel bad your post count isn't high in your standards for the amount of time you've been on the forums, and have fun posting if it interests you.
My post count is only high because i post alot in support helping others, if it wasn't for doing that i would maybe have a few hundred posts, but post count doesn't really mean much, what matters is the quality of the posts
edit: - only 10 till 10,000 (think i need a life )
And now it is 10,000
OT: The General Off Topic section is a good way to "bump up your post count" (like SpencerWencer said above) since quite a lot of the threads in there are like Forum Games, except that they increase your post count. Also I think a lot of the users around here are on all day

I have to agree as well. Frequenting the off-topic section is an efficient method of getting your post count up since the section contains a lot of threads pertaining to a diverse range of topics, hence it has several threads that may interest you.
Going on about what the guy said about the General off topic section, there was a chat thread and people with like 24,471 posts probably posted a lot in there.
It's simple, make a lot of posts as long they abide by the rules. One reason why some people have a crap-ton of posts is because MCF used to have multiple chat threads. One would get locked for an insane number of replies and another would be created making a pattern basically.
Keep in mind that posts in the Forum Games section do not count.
Well, it's just that I feel like I'm pretty active, but I guess I'm not really that active.
Also, thanks for the advice everybody! I do frequent the off-topic section, but again, I don't post unless I have something somewhat meaningful to say.

I know what it feels like to be rekt. Check out Mineplex, it's a very popular crappy server.

Then get off your bottom and see how many things you can do to help the environment.
They probably prowl around the different boards and post in every thread they can find, each and every day. They also probably avoid the forum games section, since posts in forum games don't count toward your post count. If they did, I'd probably have over 2,500 posts myself.

One thing to say. Please, don't end up like one of those people who joins forums, and to bump up post count they do:
"Hi!"
"Bump"
"Bump"
"Bump"
"Bump"
etc...
Please don't...
Don't worry, I'd never do that.

You joined in 2013 and have less posts than me, but there are users that joined after me but have more posts.
I mostly post in Forum Games, and posts in Forum Games do not count towards post counts...
I post in the general off topic, but my post count never goes up. If that were true, thorolf, Raffilcagon, Muro, MegaHaos and I would have 20 trillion posts.
I went to check your posts and it appears that most of them are in the Forum Games section. Posts in the Forum Games section does not increase your post count, however posts in all the other areas of the off-topic section do contribute towards a higher post count.

Don't worry, I'd never do that.
