the xmx needs to be double the xms... the xmx determines how much you're allocating so it should be: "javaw -Xmx1024m -Xms512m -jar "C:\Users\Andrew\Desktop\Minecraft\Minecraft.exe"

Xmx is your max allocation and xms is the minimum man,it's alright if you set them to have the same mb amount
Thanks but I need someone to say what I have done wrong and to give an answer that would generally work 100% of the time because I've tried multiple times with different ideas that have all come up short.
I said I was using vista not seven. Anyway so if the application is named minecraft.exe and it is running from the desktop then what are the changes I need to make?
javaw.exe -Xmx1024m -Xms1024m -jar "C:\Users\Andrew\Desktop\Minecraft\Minecraft.exe"
But it won't work. It says its unable to access jarfile. Can someone help me fix my problem? It's a 32 bit system with windows vista

Let's be friends...
"C:\Users\Andrew\Desktop\Minecraft\Minecraft.exe"
Using Windows 7? Browse to the location of Minecraft.exe and copy the location located at the top of the file explorer.
