Long story short : Saw creeper, ran away, turned around when I thought it should be safe to shoot him - it was gone.
Besides the fact I really hate creepers (because I love sandstone :laugh.gif:), I think mobs should be more persistent.
Since I guess that will produce more lag for lots of people, I would appreciate if it was possible to set a "Mob.Render.Distance" in the server properties.
Minecraft Wiki tells Mobs start despwaning after all players left a 32 block radius... I'm very sure I "lost" mobs much sooner. One time I had a creeper in my staircase, I climbed down some stories (no way 32 blocks)- and it was never seen again. Could this mean it is limited to a y-Axis 32 block radius, too ?
Is it even possible to shoot skeletons at a range of 50 m now ?
Oh, and before the "use bigger render distance" starts, I play on max.
So what are your experiences ? Would you like more persistent monsters or would you dislike it ?

So this is a problem in MultiPlayer? then maybe you can look for a bukkit plugin that allows you to customize these things. If its just single player, maybe look for a mod?
