Well I want the blog to be able to cover most if not all of the Minecraft areas. And I'd like to eventually be able to offer users the possibility to upload/download different things on top of the skins such as maps, mods, textures..
For now I think a blog should be fine, updated daily..
If you have any other ideas or can tell me what kind of content you want to write that'll help.
I also pm'ed both you guys a link to the blog, It'll ready when we add a bit more content but you can tell me what you think about it..
I dont wish to repeat myself however in not sure if you'll get this message either or. So I'll just post where I originally posted my comment on your other thread in the Discuss board.
I'll add to that keeping the site simplistic would be the best way to go about it. The main idea of it would be of course the skins so keep that the main focus and simple for users to use the site. The blog portion could be used more for the news of Minecraft, along with many other ideas that you could focus on. I have more ideas however im pressed for time abit as im writing this :tongue.gif:
Problem, I haven't gotten any email that supposedly had my password in it, not a even single thing at that. I don't know if I typed in the right email or not.

Yup same here. He might have to add us manually to make it work or there might be something you overlooked Charles. Not to sure tho.
Im not sure why there is an issue with creating accounts.
Please PM me your desired account usernames and emails, I will create the accounts with a generic password and email you the details, you can then change your passwords.
that is rly cool, i like the idea, but id like to have more content/descriptions on the site, maybe we can use this for the downloads section, then have a blog where we post news and tutorials.
id love to know what software/theme garrysmod site is using, it seems custom but it also looks like wordpress.
let me know if u have any ideas what hes using, and if it would be easy to do, since i am on a limited budget, the website is rly earning little, yet the traffic is huge and server costs are large enough..

1. GMOD.org is powered by steam for the login, and IS ran by a wordpress CMS, however,
" I like Wordpress. That should work fine for blogs and small websites. If you want to serve as a download portal like garrysmod.org, use a heavier CMS like Drupal or Joomla. " Source
2. Ads. Its all you can do to get revenue. However they would have to be where the people go the most. Now im not saying splash them everywhere and get people annoyed by them. Just place them on the Top header or Footer ( or a sidebar kinda deal) and then let it be. However the homepage for Skinindex would where most of the main one would have to be.
I'm Charles, the new owner of The Skindex (MinecraftSkins.com).
Thought I'd introduce myself.
I'm also working on some large changes on The Skindex to include more requested features.
Also, there will be a blog added which will feature Minecraft News, Hacks, Mods, Maps and more..
Any feedback/requests is greatly appreciated.
What do you think of the Blog idea? What else should I include into it?
I'm also looking for people who are fascinated by the Minecraft game and that will be able to post onto the blog a few times a week if not daily..
Let me know if you're interested!

Do you have any experience with wordpress?
You can visit the blog now, look at the sidebar, blow the video there is a registration form.
Register, it'll send you your password by email, you can then login, I will assign you as an editor and you'll be able to start posting asap.
Let's put some posts up there so we can go live in a couple days when there's more content on there.
Thanks for the support!

Not really, I guess I could probably figure it out though, would that be a problem then?
It shouldnt be personally. Wordpress is the most used and easy to use. You shouldn't have any problems learning :tongue.gif:.
I just approved your account and set you as a contributor,
You can now write posts and publish them (they will need to be approved by me for the beginning before they go live)
You can start now, let me know how it goes and if u have any questions

Just ask here and he'll just send you one in PM. Just be patient.

Add wp-admin at the end of the URL.
