ioFlare has been in development for 6 months with a ton of closed beta testing in order to come up with the best possible price to performance ratio. We have succeeded in this and are now able to bring SSD Powered Cloud servers that outperform the big boys such as Linode and Digital Ocean and at a lower price.
Both my partner and I are Minecraft lovers so we have decided to also offer Minecraft hosting but in a little different way than most Minecraft hosts. We will not offer Minecraft in a shared environment as this is not conductive to best performance. Minecraft is resource and IO heavy and shared hosting environments cause performance issues across all servers.
Instead we will offer the MineOS operating system as a option when creating your ioFlare SSD Cloud Server. This is a operating system designed specifically for running Minecraft servers and it is extremely good at what it does!
We believe first and foremost in performance, stability, and security and will not sacrifice any of these things for a few more sales. We are life long systems and network admins, we know our jobs extremely well, ioFlare is professionally run. Performance! Our SSD Cloud Servers are the fastest in the Industry at this time with industry leading ddos protection.
Extreme performance and stability. Minecraft is resource and Disk IO heavy and so isolation and high performance hardware and infrastructure is very important. ioFLare gives you tons of performance and isolation through your own Cloud Server (KVM).
Protection: We offer a massive 320gbps ddos protection at no additional charge to our clients.
Industry leading price to performance ratio. Where else are you going to get a $5/mo Cloud Server that scores 3k in Unix Bench and averages 80k Random Read/Write IOPS?
MineOS as your operating system. MineOS just simply kicks ass. It is extremely stable, and efficient. Servers running on any other OS are missing out on performance, efficiency, and stability.
100 Server Giveaway
We will be giving away 100 Cloud Servers during our 1 month Open Beta that will be beginning in the next 7 days. The servers will be our base model and here are the specs:
ioFlare Base Cloud Server (free for Open Beta regular $5/mo)
Virtualization Platform: KVM CPU: 10 Cores RAM: 0.75GB > 1.5GB (dedicated > burst). SSD Storage: 15GB Data Transfer: 750GB Port Speed: 1gbit DDOS Protection: Up to 320gbps Location: Montreal QC, Canada. This is very close to New Jersey and New York and actually gives better routing and latency for Europeans than NJ or NY.
Through testing this little guy handles 10 players lag free with Bukkit + Essentials + Factions running. A great introductory server or tryout of our services. The great thing about being hosted in the cloud is scalability, start small and increase your resources with just a few clicks as you need it
Our Minecraft servers are not quite Plug and Play but it is close. You can have a fully functional minecraft server with WebUI up and running in less than 10 minutes. All of our Minecraft / Cloud Servers are unmanaged. Which means that we will not help you install plugins, fix things if you break them, etc.. We only will help and respond if your server is unreachable due to a issue on our end.
We are working on extensive articles and guides on hosting in general and Minecraft hosting using MineOS.
Note: People that join us on IRC and hang out regularly from today onward with us on our channel have a increased chance to have one of these giveaway servers.
You are giving free servers right?
If you are, then it would be the best if you can host for me.
I just need a small server for my friends to play on (>1GB ram). Some of us are non premium users.
We won't need plugins because we just want vanilla.
Ohh, and I can't seem to go on the IRC, it would be nice to have a chat.
Saw you on IRC but you disconnected before I could say hi We are giving away 100 servers yes. They are free for the first month and than you would need to pay the $5/mo after that.
For all signups that are given a free server there is a initial $1 charge that we refund right away. This is because we need to run all orders through the anti-fraud system before the server can be provisioned.
The developers that are developing our custom WHMCS and Proxmox modules did not deliver the last revision on time and that is the revision needed for open beta. As soon as they deliver we will open the site up withing 2-3 hours. Join us on IRC for a better chance at a server.
