Correctamundo, we only suggest the maximum amount of slots. We don't actually limit it.

The ram is very important - I would suggest increasing it to at the very least 4gb if you think you can slice 64 people in there - it wont have great outcomes.

I disagree with what that website shows, but thank you. If our 128MB server can handle 4 players, then surely a server 16 times that size can handle 64. From a RAM perspective, anyways.
If it truly cannot handle it, then we will bite the bullet and we will accommodate. Until we see that it cannot (on our hardware and our network) we will continue to advertise as such.

I have had experience with other providers, and I've shown that 512 MB can host 20 people when pushed. That's what I'll set it to, if I decide to go with you guys.

Its not linear scaling, its exponential. All signs from minecraft, running servers for the last year and conferring with other users, point to this. Trust me on this, you won't have great results if they wish to 1) have a large map 2) install multi-plugins/mods or 3) Have the server stay up without restarting for several days or hours.
Not at all, many of our clients are in the UK and report very good pings (100-150ms) to their servers. Completely unnoticeable and smooth!

Well yes, but I mean 95 % of the players im expecting to have are european based, it just seems contra-intuitive to have the server hosted on the US. Isnt there a way you guys could arrange a european based solution?
We only want the best in hardware, which we get from Softlayer. Until Softlayer opens a datacenter in the EU, we won't have Minecraft hosted there. If you'd like, you can join the test server at 50.22.2.22 to test your latency.

I fixed that within 5 minutes of it occurring. We were updating the base bukkit installation and we accidentally started up an instance that bound to 0.0.0.0. Sorry for the inconvenience, everything should be back to normal.

As a fellow server hosting provider I agree with this the ram requirements aren't really all they are made out to be. We do not follow the 512,1gb 1.5gb guidelines either and our hosting is going fine.
@Wickot: We had to move our billing center to another server and we've been having some issues. I think I know what the problem is, so try again in about 15 minutes.
@Moviemaker107: No, we handle the hosting so you won't have to do any port forwarding.

We have, the money has gone from the PayPal but the site says we haven't paid :sad.gif:
Hey Wickot, it seems you sent the payment directly to us rather than using the invoice system. Our automated systems can't detect those payments. However, I've added the payment to your account and your server should be online.

Since we have FTP access, that means we can set how many players can play on the server, right? We're not slot-restricted?

edit: second question was answered in first post
"Yes, you can use the Dynmap plugin."
Also, AMAZING early customer service for answering a question in less than 45 minutes on a saturday.
