Since I have started playing minecraft i've been amazed by the quantity of players and just how wonderful the community is.
Although, many people suffer the "I want to create a server but it either costs too much or lags" syndrome.
So I have devised a nice solution, I deal with dedicated servers on a daily basis, I run my own minecraft server at a datacenter, since I have hosted it there, lag is a non issue and the game runs great!
The problem is, a single 2Gb Ram server costs a lot of money to host (in the 100-200 $ per month range).
Between you and me, that's a bit much to just play minecraft with friends.
So what we offer is to host minecraft servers on powerful machines in a top-notch datacenter. This way, each server owner can save on server costs and still get very fast lag-free game experience.
On top of all that, we would also offer free voice communication hosting (Mumble) as well as webhosting. We can also manage the installation of mods and updates for your minecraft server. Basically, making everything hassle free with no tedious management, we would do all the work!
Here's a short version of the above
We Offer:
# High quality server machine
# Hosted in a secure datacenter
# Near 100% up-time guarantee
# High 100 Mbit Up/Down bandwidth capacity
# Managed Minecraft server for mods/plugins/updates
# Free Mumble voice chat server if requested
# Free Webhosting so you can add your forums or welcome page
I want to get an idea of who would be interested in such a service before deciding anything, the price range would be about 60$ for 15 slots standard. 120$ for 40 slots, 240$ for 80 slots, remember this includes free hosting for teamspeak/mumble and website, all of it managed by IT professionals that play/manage minecraft servers on a daily basis!
Feel free to PM me or email me at [email protected] or just reply to this post.

Tbh, you just lost some credibility by suggesting to use dedicated servers with 2GB of RAM.

So you guys are licensed by Teamspeak to offer that service?

Why don't you go ahead and let us know how much dedicated memory the 15 slot setup has, OpenVZ or XEN? Maybe a test server to log into? Which company do you work for, etc. etc.

1) Who said Dedicated server
2) Even if it was a dedicated server, not every server comes with 32gb of ram (specially for game servers)

1) He did mention that it was a managed service, so imo do not expect to have SSH access.
2) He never said anything about OpenVZ or XEN.
3) He also did not mention any company. He seems to be dooing a market analysis to know who would be interested and from that i can tell he is either alone or with a friend on this.
(From those who read the mineserve server thread, yes he is my friend but on this i am not with him atm)
As for the teamspeak server chances are that he will remove it from the list. Again he posted that to see who would be interested. Who knoes if he gets enough client, it may be profitable enough to get an ATHP License for Teamspeak and host the servers.

I have a clan that needs a server to join. We can't pay RL money tho...
He did mention that it will cost money. (Usually servers are not free)
What I was looking into was simply seeing who would be interested in getting minecraft servers, my original plan includes setting up minecraft servers for each person interested using large VPSes that I would pay for.
For instance, you can save money per GB of ram if you get a more powerful server, but it's overkill for a single minecraft server, but by hosting multiple servers, everyone on the same server can mitigate the costs and everyone pays less. Also, many people are not technical savvy and don't really want to go through the trouble in setting it all up so I'd offer to help in that department too! For instance, a 8Gb ram server can host almost 4 15 slots servers with no problems assuming the internet connection is good enough, we have a 100Mbit line for each VPS so that's never a problem.
I work for an engineering company specialising in air traffic control, I'm not an IT guy, I just know my way around computers and minecraft servers, in fact, my linux guru buddy Mad2k6 would likely be the one going to do most of the setups, he's a university sudent in information technology and really knows his VPS and minecraft.
Also the dedicated RAM ratio would likely be as follows, 1GB for 15 slots, 2GB for 40, 4GB for 80. This of course follows the minecraft rule of thumb that 1Gb is good for an unmodded 24 slot server.
Hope that clears up some things.
PS: We don't offer teamspeak anymore as I just read the licensing agreement, mumble is still pefectly fine!
PPS: I have no idea where you get this credibility issue for a 2GB Dedicated machine at 100-200 $ a month. This is what I used beforehand as this is my server for my everyday web/voice/game, although just stiplulating that price of a dedicated 2GB machine in no way implies that I am suggesting using those to host other minecraft servers.
