So, I've read through a few of the posts in the help forum already and they seem to all be simple problems that were solved easily. I wasn't going to post but I couldn't find any threads that helped with my issue.
I started playing Minecraft years ago in early alpha and purchased an account. I was pretty active up until about 2 or 3 months ago when I took a break from the game. This morning I decided to start playing again and logged into my account to play. I realized after a while that I was not updated to 1.6, so I followed the steps to download the update: downloaded the new launcher, and then went to migrate my minecraft account to a Mojang account. Upon attempting to migrate, i received an error saying that I had not purchased Minecraft. Curious, I logged into my minecraft.net account, which also stated that I do not own the game.
I have submitted a support ticket to Mojang asking for help, but I'm still pretty upset that I can't play the game after I was just playing this morning. I have no idea how this happened. If anyone has had anything similar happen please respond.
Hello! I have had this problem too! I played MineCraft all the time, but 4 days ago I have lost my Minecraft game! At first I just wasn't aloud to play, only was able to play the Demo it said, I then checked the Mojang site, and under "My Games" it said I owned no games!!! I can't really get a refund or anything because I don't have the emails anymore!
I bought my game from a third party site (Gamerstore.cl from Chile) and I got this problem too. I emailed them about this, sent them all proof that I had paid for the game and they sent me other code (I hope this one doesn't get banned either). I hope I helped a little bit

Hmm, go into mojang and enter your password ( case sensitive ) and then your email, if you migrated it then you MUST use your email to log in, and if you didn't username is for you!

NEVER, Buy your game from a third party site, and ESPECIALLY if its free.

If you don't have the email you can't log in if you have a migrated account >_<
I am having the same issue. I wanted to upgrade to 1.7 from 1.5.2 (i thought it auto updated). Difference? I bought and paid for my account earlier this year through the minecraft.net page. No third party involved. Now I can play the game until 1.5.2 but the new launcher will only allow me to play demo mode and I only get errors when I try to migrate the account. The main site acts as if I never purchased the game when I log in. I can't imagine that we're the only people with this problem and it seems like bad business to try to force customers to purchase the game twice. I have sent a ticket but who knows how long that may take if I even get a response.
Hey!
Did you ever find out anything about this issue? I just updated to the latest version of MC and now I'm getting the same issue. I bought the game in the early alpha stages as well, so of course I don't have a bank statement showing that from years ago! Was this resolved for you? I emailed them stating that I had the account up and working yesterday but I haven't heard back from them yet...

Im having the exact same issue! I stopped playing it for a little while, not too long, and when my boyfriend who stopped playing it longer than I started playing it again he had no issues. I, on the other hand, was told I had to buy it again. Anyone figure out a solution?
