So I got up today and wanted to play some minecraft, i go to log in with my username and password i always use and always have used and it gave me the error "Sorry but your username...etc."
After changing my password and looking up my username to see if it was correct (and it was) i decided to try again but it still did not work.
As a last ditch effort I decided to try to uninstall and re-install minecraft to see if it was a problem with that which it was not.
So I'm now here to find out if anyone has found a solution to this major bug in the new launcher.
This should not be a glitch within the launcher, go to Mojang Support, they can help you with your account problems. It may be you account has been compromised, or there is a problem with authenticating your input details. They'll know what to do.
How long does it usually take to get help? Reading through the forums it looks like it could be anywhere from days to weeks....
I see i am not the only one having this problem !
This is a hacking problem of the minecraft.net site !
The proof is that for me my username i was using for years now is not the same and was changed by someone !
I believed that a minecraft username was unchangeable , but some one did it and compromised my premium account definitively, replacing the username with another one that is "Stephen_Cypher" => this is a signature from the damn hacker which has deleted my premium account...
Verify yourself on the minecraft.net site if your username is the same with the "lost username" option !

Minecraft without Thaumcraft is like a pizza without cheese, tasteless !!!
its a glitch in the system ik for a fact it happened to me two dyas ago i changed my password/email combo nothing worked i tried about 24 hrs later and bam i could login just change ur stuff and give ti a day or so
My account has required me to capitalize my email when logging into the Minecraft site but not the launcher or the Mojang site. I don't know if this is related.

* I promise I'm not lazy or stupid. . . just overwhelmed. . . . I'm trying to make 80+ mods get along. . . I had no idea what I was getting into. . .
I just have the exact same problem, I was able to successfully log into both minecraft.net and mojang.com with my account, but on the launcher, no, it gave me a ExceptionInvalidCredentials error.
Yes, everyone calm down. The Mojang website can get jammed up a bit if there's a lot of traffic on it. Just be patient and your password will be reset. Good luck!
I am having the same problem tonight, too. I downloaded the new Launcher and then I couldn't log in. I couldn't even reset my password but, I know I am using the right information. I was playing earlier today and had no problem. Very frustrating.
Edit: And to add, I gave my friend my login and he was able to get on. Any ideas? Thanks.
