You will have to manually cut and paste the jacket/sleeve layers if you use the online editor he said.

That's all well and good, but nobody ever answered the actual questions I had, namely: When is this being implemented? and Does this new format apply to mobs and armors as well?

EDIT: It seems to be working fine now... :\
I have a problem with my skin. Everything appears to be fine, except for my left arm (not the sleeve, but the arm). Here's the skin I uploaded:I thought I put the texture of the left arm where it's supposed to be, but no matter how long I wait and restart Minecraft 14w05a...I don't understand why it still isn't showing my left arm. Did I draw it wrong? Or is it still stuck showing my previously uploaded skin, which I forgot to put it in...

First question: Minecraft 1.8, and in snapshots of said update.
Second Question: Not currently
Everything changes. If they don't make a single change, you'll get bored and end up giving up on the game. Changes are a natural part of everything. Mojang has taken a step in the right direction with this, and you've only got a few choices with it. Get over it and move on, never update, or just quit. I suggest the first one, though. :]
I haven't really encountered any issues with the skin gig. I suppose it's because I just upload skins from the web. You can always find great skins online you know. Not that I dislike the custom skin idea, I did make a great skin off of some site I found.
After going on Minecraft's website to change/update my skin, I see that the reference skin they provide is still 64x32; do I still have to use that template, seeing as I'm still on 1.7 (currently not using the 1.8 snapshots), or do I have to convert it to 64x64, or if I upload a 64x32 skin, will convert it to 64x64 for me?

Since 1.8 is still in snapshots, the new skin format is not added yet. Also, the skin server is backward compatible, so if you don't upload a new skin, it will work fine, though not auto-convert.

Please stop sending me friend requests on Xbox Live; I have enough friends.
My sig got screwed up because of a forum glitch and I'm too lazy to go find the banners to fix it.
