Hey, what language are you using? I recommend using scratch to start off due to the fact that it is actually code based unlink other game making software such as Game Maker, also you can embed them on websites really easily. http://scratch.mit.edu/
Next, once that has been mastered I recommend moving to something more advanced such as c++. Languages such as c++ are not easy to learn, so don't be discouraged!
I had to try to buy 3 tickets cause my friend was under 16. Then mojang changed the rule after it was sold out. If they changed that before, Me and my friend would most likely be going. i saw MANY chances to buy 2 tickets, but only 2 to buy 3 tickets. :/

A good place to start would be here
http://learn.adsgames.net/
and then search for more advanced tutorials after this one. The game engine it uses is ALLEGRO.
