Minecraft World Management Tools, now in the Client!
Have you ever died in-game, or had your home destroyed by creepers, and thought to yourself, "Man, I wish I could just go back and do that over again"? Lucky for you, we have thought that too!
Are you ready for a savegame management tool that will let you back up and restore your worlds, quicksave on the fly, and even store backed up world copies on the Cloud, to free up hard drive space? The new Curse Client - Minecraft Update includes a host of features, including:
Saved Worlds:
Each individual world on your computer can be locally backed up for safe keeping! In addition to showing when a world was last backed up, the "More Info" tab will show you your health, level, and the number of items in your inventory, as well as give you the ability to share your world's seed with a simple click to copy option. Any saves listed on this screen can be restored.
Quicksave:
In regular intervals, the Client will create a quicksave of any given world -- These can also be created upon hitting the escape key. If you manage to fall into some lava, have a creeper destroy all your hard work, or just want to go on an NPC rampage without there being consequences, the Quick Saves will have you covered. Just click to restore the world back to its previous state!
Saved World Sync:
Any Curse Premium member will additionally have the ability to sync any world to the cloud, allowing you to download your world to any PC without the hassle!
Texture pack and Server management tools
That's all pretty cool, but what about something special for the creative minds of the community? Any artist, modder, or equally creative talent who uploads their creations to the Client via Bukkit (for Minecraft), or CurseForge (for any other game), and gets 1,000 or more downloads will get FREE Curse Premium!
Ready to give the Minecraft World Management features a try? If you haven't picked up the Curse Client yet, click here, download the client, and give it a try today!
Not gonna happen. Curse is a company. Curse want money.
The quick save feature is available to everyone for free. Every member of minecraftforum.net is a member of curse.com; we use the curse.com login system. If you have an account here you can download the curse client for free (http://curse.com/client) and have quick saves!
Step 1. Go to the "Curse Client" page on curse.com: http://www.curse.com/client
Step 2. Click "Download for PC" (Minecraft features are only available on PC at the moment)
Step 3. Follow the install process
Step 4. Login with the same information you use to login to minecraftforum.net
it's super simple!
The only thing you can't do[1] without subscribing to curse premium (which costs between $3 per month and $5 per month depending on subscription length) is have your saves available from any computer in the world using the Curse cloud saving system. This feature is also helpful if you ever wipe your hard drive and don't want to have to remember to manually save your worlds.
Curse premium isn't required to use the curse client and you'll get a huge amount of value from the Curse client even if you don't have premium. Curse premium will extend the Curse client experience (and all Curse websites) to something really special but it isn't required.
We want everyone to be able to use the client to make their Minecraft experience even better and every feature that can be offered for free is, however some features have a real tangible cost to the company and we need to offset those costs with premium
There's a full run down of the features available as part of the Curse client with those that require a Curse premium subscription labelled, you can find that list of features here and you can find information on Curse premium here. You get to support the site, extra features in the client, advertisement free, private forum... and more
[1] The only thing specific to the quick save feature, there are a few extra things that are premium only but they relate to management of texture packs and advertisements. Advertisements are always hidden for Curse premium members on every (supported) Curse website and Curse program.

You guys are shameless it seems. The only way I would ever consider a Curse premium subscription is if you removed the ads in all versions of your software, simply to support a company doing the right thing.
"Available to everyone"
As long as you have a PC. What about us Mac users? How much longer till we get features that are available to "everyone?"
Everyone with compatible hardware and software, I'll edit that stipulation into my comment. Regarding the mac client, it's in progress but there's no ETA yet We'll announce when it's available on Mac.

I believe Curse premium removes adverts from all Curse software, do you have an example of anything that it doesn't? I can look into why that is for you.
I found the previous one! http://www.minecraft...nagement-tools/
The difference with this and that is that Texture pack and Server management tools is missing from the first one.
How can it be missing? It just wasn't added. If it was in the old one and not in the new one, THEN it would be missing.
Would of been nice if you made the header: Minecraft World Management Tools, now in the CURSE Client! (Totally not actual vanilla Minecraft)
I got all my hopes up for nothing
So is this quicksave feature premium only? Cause it's not working for me.
It isn't working for me as well. I downloaded this the first time this was posted and found that the quick save feature did not work, no matter how much I fiddled with the options. Then, the manual backups stopped working and kept saying "close Minecraft first" or something of that nature. It's easier to just go into the .minecraft folder and copy-paste my worlds every once in a while. I've since deleted the client.
Why is everyone hating on this so much? If you aren't interested, DON'T CLICK IT.
It does everything it says, and I'm sure would be helpful in certain situations. I myself haven't used it, however I am not abusing curse for it either.

Was this during the testing period, or after release?

This was after the release when this was originally posted on November 20th. If you have any insight on why the quicksaves don't work or why the manual backups refuse to work, even after MC had been long since closed, I'd appreciate it.
Edit: By "not working" we mean that the client states that whenever you hit Esc, the client should create a quicksave, but it never does. I'd attempted this on multiple worlds and none of the quicksaves ever appeared in the client.

EDIT: JKS I hate First comments. Also these are good updates. I like them all. Except, I feel like they've been in for a while...

BTW, congrats on Admin, citricsquid!
It probably happened a long time ago, but I just noticed.

I created this forum in 2009, I've been admin since the first second the forum existed haha

What do you mean by "not working", can you explain what happens?
