Ever wonder how a massive convention like Minecon gets off the ground? What goes into organizing, putting together, and maintaining a show like this? We're about to give you a sneak-peek into the answer to this very question!
First, we sat down with Christine Hilgert and Kate Gemmell, the "Meeting Expectations" Managers of the convention, who speak about how they were contacted, who they contacted for help (including us!), and how they went about determining the best way to lay the groundwork for Minecon. Every day at Minecon, these two could be seen on the convention hall floor, checking on and checking in with everyone present, streamlining events and more. The convention was great! A few snags here and there but that is to be expected. In my opinion if this is done again, you are going to need more space and more booths as there was lines going into lines (i.e the J!nx booth). I heard a few people calling it "Linecon" but for a first time it ran well, no major problems. You iron out the few problems and you are going to have a convention that keeps on giving.
From what I heard minecon was an unorganized mess where nothing was prepared, the lines were massive and a lot of shows were missed due to bad information management. Then notch going on his semi drunk twitter rant based on third hand accounts. Really it sounds like it went well..
