So how do the snow heights work? I just generated a new world, went to a snow biome, and all the snow was normal. I then did /toggledownfall and let it snow for a bit, and the snow on the ground still looks the same.
I haven't tested it myself, but to consolidate what other testers are saying about snow:
Falling snow doesn't currently stack higher than 1 layer. It is unclear whether this is a bug or by design.
Craft 3 snow blocks across (like slabs), you get 6 snow sheets
Laying a single snow sheet looks and behaves like natural-falling snow
Stacking snow sheets: 4 high looks a half-slab, 8 high looks like a full block
BUT, player walking height on snow is (layers - 1). So 1 layer (like normal snowfall), you are just walking on the underlying block. 5 layers, you are walking on layer 4 (half-slab height). 8 layers, you are walking on layer 7 (soul sand height)
Breaking layered snow gives you snowballs equal to the number of layers you placed
Doing the math: 12 snowballs can be crafted into 3 snowblocks, which can be crafted into 6 snowsheets, which (after placing and breaking), become 6 snowballs. 50% return on investment.
An 8-high snow layer looks like a snow block, but besides the difference in walking height, layered snow will disappear if the block under is broken
Aww man... the comparator bug was fixed... This sounds weird, but could the comparators be bugged again? XD Half my contraptions don't work anymore, but I do like the teams!
Oh, and the bone meal changes are way better this time, Thanks guys. I think the random nature of the trees growing with bone meal is a good change with in my short bit of testing it taking 3-7 meal for a tree to grow.
Unless the tree is partially blocked, where it would normally take 2-3 to get one to grow now it would take 6-20
Unless the tree is partially blocked, where it would normally take 2-3 to get one to grow now it would take 6-20
Which is a pain absolutely! But makes a hell of a lot more sense than wheat and potatoes taking 7 clicks per plant... and with the 2 meal per tree it would still have taken 4-10 or so... So it sucks... but by the point I'm trying to control how tall trees grow I'm usually not particularly concerned by using any amount of bone meal. >.> Especially because I usually use Birch if I need a whole slew of wood being they always grow straight >.> But if you want Oak I can totally see why that would be a huge issue being they are SUUUCH a pain if you are trying to farm them without restricting their height. I suppose same could be said of Jungle wood... :/
I think trees grow too fast anyways, Once I was playing, I placed a sapling, turned around, placed another, then turned back around and it had already grown. 2 seconds! 2 SECONDS! But I was on xbox... sooo... xbox needs a tree growing nerf...
Still, I'm not wasting bonemeal on those trees! They grow up so fast!
Let's say you want to add "Bob" to the team "Noobs" then type "/scoreboard teams join Noobs Bob"
yes that works fine but I wanted to know if you can use @p in a command block to get a player to join a team I've already written out said code but it doesn't work.
/scoreboard teams join Red @p
I know. If you look at my previous post, you see me saying it's a bug. You can't do it with @p atm.
would @a work because then you can just do 2 separate lobbies and set your teams up that way with the square brackets and the radius command. If not when do you think it will be fixed
this means 1.5 won't contain the Mod API after all.

urrrrgh.... snow heights are vaguely useful, still don't get what a scoreboard is....

Define Cute (choose 1): A) Creepers Aerbunnies C) Herobrine. If you chose A): You appeal to destruction and to stereotypes. If you chose B): You are a perfectly normal person, and enjoy the Aether Mod. If you chose C): Please leave the planet now before you set off a nuclear warhead--no one enjoys mass murders, however nice they might seem to you.
Back on topic, I'm a big fan of the new snow. But in case anyone was wondering, you cannot use the stackable snow to build a snow golem. Not that it really matters, I just found it interesting. I'll probably use the stackable snow to build a nice snow capped mountain.

basicly its the snow tile but "stacked" on top of each other, say snow 2, it is the snow tile that is 2 "normal" tiles thick, with a colission box of 1 snow tile thick (so you kinda sink into the snow" , so snow 3 would be 3 time snow 1 (or normal) and have a collison box of 2, this is a feature currently in the game its just disabled, if you have world edit it is easily obtianable do /set snow:5 (or any other number). I think the snow was slightly modified as the currently not-legitimantly-obtianed-in-the-game was kinda unbalanced. (you could get snow that looked like a normal snowblock but was really as snow tile x 16, with the collision box of just over a slab) i am very happy with this, as it *may* lead to some heavy-snowing-biome or just be added to current. so in a nut shell:snow can now pile up.
<did-it-before-it-was-cool>though im kinda sad because now that cool feature you couldnt get normaly and was kinda a secrete, is now public and obtainable*sob*</did-it-before-it-was-cool>

If the cake is a lie........ does that mean if i build a house out of cake my house isn't real?
Your sense of style is pathetic , I always look to java programers for style , because where ever they are , they always have .class.

Did you know I write Science Fiction? Well I do. Check it out at http://planetretcon.com/books/
EDIT- actually i can make a timer with repeaters but i really want a sequencer
Yeah. that would be cool. Also, I think that powering a testfor command block should always testfor.
it is easy to make a sequencer. Here is a few pictures...

theres like 10 new blocks
