A new Snapshot is out and about, ready for your testing pleasure! Here's what is on offer this week:
Snapshot Features:
_______________
Added team based functionality to scoreboards
Adjusted balancing of bone meal
Implemented multiple snow heights
Drops more snowballs
4th height fork as slab
Crafting recipe for snow
Wait, that's not a very big list of features at all, especially considering how meaty the last few Snapshots have been! Well, that can only mean one thing: since this Snapshot is mostly bug-fixes and minor tweaks, the launch of the 1.5 Redstone Update is nearly upon us! Keep an ear to the ground, but in the meantime, give this Snapshot a test run!

Good one... but that was very disappointment as in slow to release about more bugfixes and few add features and improvements.
Actually I don't want to wait in 1.5 pre-release today, if not make it more lucky features of biomes (such as palm tree on the beach) items, blocks and more.
i can barely wait!! especially for the item hoppers, nether quartz, and basically all the features that are being added. now when i build an auto farm, i won't have to use a big water stream!!
So how do the snow heights work? I just generated a new world, went to a snow biome, and all the snow was normal. I then did /toggledownfall and let it snow for a bit, and the snow on the ground still looks the same.

It's not a weather feature (yet, assuming it might be added).
You can craft snow layers by placing three snow blocks at the bottom of a crafting bench, much like most other slabs. Putting the snow down will place it normally, unless you place it on top of other snow, in which case it will "add" on top of that snow.

Give yourself one of the snow cover blocks and try placing it on top of the snow cover blocks on the ground.
It's the "Redstone, minecarts and the usual random minor features"-Update. Terrain changes shouldn't really be expected.
Maybe other features of items, blocks and normal biome/terrain are really boring, not only in upcoming about 1.6 or something future major updates whatsoever.
Oh, and the bone meal changes are way better this time, Thanks guys. I think the random nature of the trees growing with bone meal is a good change with in my short bit of testing it taking 3-7 meal for a tree to grow. It's MUUUUCH better that crops now only take 2 for potatoes and wheat and 3 for carrots. I think the changes make sense, even though I liked bone meal how it was, this is an ok way to nerf it a little but not make it totally crazy like the 7 per crop business.

Or am I getting that wrong because then you would have a negative return crafting slabs.
No, it stacks 8 times before it's a full block
